  • GPS unit advise

Ok, I am looking to upgrade my aging GPS unit (circa 2005 with no support) and want to get a nice unit that is supported and easy to use and under $150. Any of you guys have and suggestions?

Right now, I am looking at either a TomTom or a Garmin or a Magellan.

Garmin all the way! I bought mine a year ago and now I won't leave home without it!

Garmin. I've owned a Garmin and a Tom Tom, and people at work have owned a Magellan, but now almost everyone owns a Garmin. (We do a lot of car travel at work. Probably around 75% of my job is in a car.) They are the most accurate and easiest to use. Tom Toms are OK, but the directions sometimes take you in some odd places. Magellans are just terrible.

If you can swing it, get a Garmin with a "T" on the end. Those have real-time traffic updates.
