  • The REAL victims of Blackest Night...

Are our wallets. By god...looking at all the main tie-ins (Superman, Batman, Titans, etc.) as well as all the one-shot tie-ins across the board in the DCU this might be one of the most expensive events ever.

And here is me...almost two months out of Uni and no job to speak of.

The main problem is, I want most if not all of these things, and I know I won't be happy unless I have them. Damn greed...

By the end of all of this I think I'll be praying for my bank-account to RISE out of the debt this thing is going to put it in.

Yup. I will probably buy all tie-ins in trades except Teen Titans, Sup/Bat, Booster and others tie-ins in regular titles.
Btw Newsarama already calculated cost of BN. But it's not even close to the cost of the whole event.

same goes for me as Im out of work and I cant seem to get back into work at the moment but Im the same wanting all the tie-ins plus the variants which from #2 are a bitch to get as I was told there was a bloody queue for them last week so Im now having to fight off the convention guys who buy them to profit off so Im going to lose out there.

But when you take into account Blackest Night mini we are all bound to think we are spending loads now but we havent even got to the action figures that hit next month then again in november and all the other GL stuff coming out and let alone the people who forked out loads for the SDCC Hal Jordans already so its all getting a bit to pricey at the moment and bad time to be out of work.

Luckily my birthday is in October so I can afford the 2 sets of figures that are coming out so I can worry a bit less but still worry Im going to miss something.

          No tie-ins for me!

Except GL & GLC, of course.

I was going to try to stick with BN, GL, and GLC without any tie-ins. Not going to happen. BN Batman and BN Superman I can't resist. Went back to my LCS today to get BN Batman when I passed on it last Wednesday. Money problems have been an issue for me too as my business is going crappy. But, budgeting comes into play. My entertainment budget has cooled down now that summer movies and stuff are over. Now that money goes to Blackest Night!

Not to mention us poor Canucks end up paying nearly $4.50 for a $3.99 comic, and around $3.30 for a $2.99 comic. Plus 14% tax on everyfuckingthing.

It's not fun paying nearly $10 for two comics

hahaha well Im not best pleased when the comic prices went up either as for a standard $2.99 I pay £2.20 and $3.99 costs £2.85 and I used to be able to get 5 for under £10 which doesnt happen anymore which is crap.

Same here dude, they look way great, and I felt myself snatching up BN Batman without hesitation...So there went my plans of ONLY sticking to certain titles.

easily solved dude: read the books in-store, save up yur pennies, then buy the TPBs when they come out *in that store*.

solved, and everything ends up balancing out even on a karmic-lvl.

I changed my tune on the tie-ins as well. BN Batman was a great read!
