As for the Harry Potter thing, what is "a lot"? Like I said, I know NOBODY who thinks that, and I know quite a few Christians. I don't doubt there are some, but I'd be mighty surprised if it was anything like a majority.

I've met a couple who wouldn't let there kids read it, but weren't calling for it to be censored.
On the other hand, one of the families at my church is way into it and thinks it the best stories of good versus evil ever. Even my pastor likes Potter.

Maybe it depends on where you live? I know a lot of Christians (I am one) and NONE of them think Harry Potter is Satanic. Many of them own the books (myself included).

i cant speak for all christians but i know alot ( not one myself) that do believe harry potter is some way of worshipping satan.


and what i find really hypocritical is these groups say oh one thing is the devil and yet the bible itself is ok even if it is pretty god damn violent and twisted in its own way.

Well, I don't think that applies in this case. They weren't trying to ban the books or persecute Wiccans. Not giving an award doesn't infringe those rights. Still stupid, though, if that was the real reason. (Though, much as I dislike Bush, and voted against him both times, I'd need more confirmation than this provides to actually be convinced that this was his decision personally. I wouldn't be surprised if it never even came to him for that choice.)

that Wiccan / Paganism is one of the oldest religions on the planet, with it's origins being fatefully traced back over 7000 years...

Wicca goes back to the early 20th century, and Paganism isn't a specific religion. Although, some of the religions that the term Pagan covers, do date back pretty far.

Wicca didn't even become popular until Gardener popularized it in the 50's and 70's.
