Its really hard to say, these aren't in any particular order... I don't have a solid favorite... because it really depends on the mood. Sometimes you're in the mood for Mallrats and sometimes your in the mood for Seven.
Seven
Session 9
Aliens
Alien
The Usual Suspects
The Magnificent Seven
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Taxi Driver
Apocalypse Now
Mallrats
A Bronx Tale
Equilibrium
The Shining
Dr. Strangelove: Or how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb.
Blazing Saddles
The Evil Dead
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Die Hard
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
The Mummy
The Shawshank Redemption
Those are the ones that come to mind, of course a lot of those... Like Indiana Jones, The Mummy, Die Hard... I like the whole series I just picked the one I liked best out of them.

Oh hell, you want me to work??!?
I can put the 20 together quick enough; it's putting them in the right order that's the bitch. Gimme a few minutes, I LOVE doing top fill-in-the-blank lists!

...Maybe it won't be so easy.
I just did a preliminary list of my favorite movies in my collection, and I'm at 43. I've gotta whittle away 23 more movies before listing them! I have a pet peeve of when people break the rules of the list automatically and exceed if not double or triple the number asked for. I guess I'll hold myself to that and get it down to the 20, lol!

Nived's list has several that would be in my top 20. I think I could get it down to a top 50, but it will be brutal to cut it down.
Movies are like music to me. Different genres fit different moods. One day I'll need a Monty Python classic, the next I'll need an adventure flick or some sci-fi wackiness. Or a history set-piece, I really like a quality film that opens up some doors on history I rarely read about.
I guess it will be fun trying to cut it to 20....

I feel really guilty knocking some of these out. I think a top 10 would've been easier, because I could be more ruthless. At 20 I'm like, "What, I don't like this enough to squeeze it in?". It's a few of the trilogies that are eating up so much room.

Anyway... I'll post my list in a bit... I have to think about it, like everyone else. I could probably rattle off a few dozen movies I enjoy, but to really make a top 20 list will be rather difficult... but then, everyone else has said pretty much the same thing, so thats much of a duh statement.Do good. Be well. Make happy.

i'll have my top twenty list done within the next three to six months ... to be honest, i'm having a difficult time thinking of any films worthy to be in my favorite list ... hmmm ...
off the top of my head, there are some that deserve mention though ...
Tombstone (Val Kilmer stole the show) ...
Batman (Michael Keaton was best Batman / Bruce Wayne, so far) ...
Devil's Advocate (I thought about this film for days after seeing it the first time) ...
The Postman (Kevin Costner is probably my favorite serious actor) ...
I'll add more later when I can think of them ...

There's only a few actual franchises that would appear in my list ... Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, and Matrix ... Back in the day, I would have said American Pie (the last three spinoffs have sucked tho), Indiana Jones (I've seen them so many times that I have no desire to watch again), Back To The Future, and Karate Kid (the last one sucked tho ... how dare they replace ralph macchio with some girl ... grrrr ...) ... G'nite all ...
. . .
Star Wars Ep 1 (Jar Jar and Yoda stole the show) & Star Wars Ep 6 (Gotta love those Ewoks) ...

My Top 20.
#3 is Sin City, #20 is Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. Both titles don't appear on the page for some reason.
