Rayner.2814.4 reporting in.
How's every little thing?
I thought I might as well create an actual thread introducing myself to the rest of the "ringslingers" of the Corps. I've met a handful already, and now I guess I'll be knowing the rest of you.
A few things to know about me: I am a Kyle Rayner fan whole and true, because he happens to be the first Green Lantern I was familiar with, but the great thing about that would have to be that the first issue I ever bought of him was Vol. 3 Green Lantern #76 which if anyone knows happens to be the second cross-over between Connor Hawke and Kyle Rayner. (Mind you I bought this solely because I liked the cover, and I had a vague notion of who a Green Lantern was at the time.)
Now what really grabbed my attention had to have been that the book was riddled with nostalgia for the veteran reader who knew of Kyle and Connor's previous encounter, and as well of Hal and Ollie's previous adventure to the same little town they travel too. Now this may put off the "Causal Reader" but, all it did was ignite the fires of curiosity within me, and the two page splash with larger than life Harold "Hal" Jordan and Oliver "Ollie" Queen didn't hurt either.
With that set I began my traverse through Green Lantern Lore, and my collection of Vol. 3 Green Lantern books buying anything I could get my young hands on. My appetite was unquenchable when it came to learning more about the illustrious "Green Lantern Corps." who protected the 3600 sectors of the universe. The veteran statesman who was a "Green Lantern" by name "Alan Scott" was like a legendary icon to me as I learned more and more. "Katma Tui, Tomar Re, Tomar Tu, Boodikka, Rot Lop Fan, Arisia" were Lanterns to name a few that echoed in my head of past Lanterns lost to time.
And, now I've simmered with age and enjoy my stories of the return of the larger than life "Space Cops" and their stories. I don't buy as many issues as I used to, but I do pick up the trades when released. So, again Rayner.2814.4 reporting for Active Duty, I hope we all stay bright.
