Will John become the new star of GLC?

First off, for all the Kyle fans i am aware that it is not a for sure thing that Kyle will die.

BUT

If he were too would it be possible for John too take over this book?

John becoming the star of the book wouldn't mean that Kyle is killed off. There are several scenarios.

He's already the costar. I don't see him leaving the title anytime soon. I even have my doubts that Kyle will leave the book.

He could be getting crippled/disfigured, giving up his ring and becoming like the Snapper Carr of the GLC book. I wouldn't put something like that past'em, but I would happily, very happily be wrong about it.

I wouldn't put anything stupid past them, but it seems to me that something they'd do with Kyle would be more like making him a Blue Lantern, making him a Guardian of the Blue Lanterns, making him a Guardian of the GLC, or some other title change/promotion. It has to be something HIGHER than an Honor Guard for the GLC. Something that will change the "status quo" but leave him in GLC as a character for Bedard to use.

no, i don't think so, for me if something happens to Kyle and he's no longer in the book i'll give it 2 issue to "pull me in" and then i'm gone til the next big GL event happens

In what sense? I've kind of been wondering when he was going to play a significant role in the title. My impression has been that, since joining the title, he has had very little to do.

The next two covers feature him and only him, so I think the answer is yes. He's gonna be the star.

Or at least the main GL alongside whatever other GLs are in the book.

This thread title is very misleading. Before you click on it all it says is "Will John become the new star.....". I thought it was gonna end with "....Sapphire?"

Most of the action and dialogue starts and ends with him. Sure Boodikka was the more focus of Bedard's first arc, but John was right there. No one has done anything to say "Look at me!" but its quite clear that John is the go-to voice of this book now.

I'd say it's been an even split between John, Kyle, Ganthet, and Soranik.

If Kyle is gone from the title or reduced to a supporting Snapper Carr character instead of a co-star, then the book won't last unless they go cheap and put ALL the Earth GL's in the title from time to time. John is a good character, but he can't carry the book with a bunch of alien co-stars on his own.

If times got hard and Kyle had another title he was appearing in, I wouldn't think twice before getting that book before GLC.

Fans were begging for John to get more attention since Rebirth. I'd say it about his time. As long as they can share the spotlight with Kyle. Or if Kyle can get a lead elsewhere, pending the end result of WOTGL.
