  • How Strong Is Guy Considered Now?

Looking back on some threads here in Guys forum I can see that some called Guy the badass of the GL Corps but then mentioned he is constantly getting beat by people. But I think that he has grown a bit over the years especially after seeing his fight with Hal Jordan in the beginning of the War of The Green Lanterns.

Is it possible to argue that Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner are about on equal terms of power now?

Guy's always been a badass ... Even when he gets his ass kicked, he doesn't back down ... Hell, Guy even went toe to toe against Lobo (without a power ring and/or Vuldarian powers) ... Sure Lobo mopped the floor with Guy, but Mr. Gardner didn't back down ...

Check out Guy Gardner Reborn ...

As far as willpower is concerned, i'd say Guy is the best of the best too ... He used the two most extreme color rings to pull Parallaxitive out of the central battery just recently too ... i don't think Hal, Kyle, or John would've been successful with that task either ...

He's so strong he can lift a car over his head. Wicked strong.

Seriously, as long as he doesn't badger Batman, he's all set.

The way Hal narrates it, Guy is supposed to have the most raw, unbridled willpower of all the Earth Lanterns. Although, in previous volumes, Guy got his ass handed to him on a regular basis when he battled other Lanterns, particularly John and Hal.

i would actually say guys will is right under Hals.

                In terms of power:
                Hal
                Guy
                Kyle
                John

They are supposed to be on equal terms as far as willpower is concerned. Abin Sur's ring declared them both equal and both worthy [I wish they would show that more instead Guy just being the jackass that routinely gets his ass kicked]

God only knows now if Johns sees them as equals though. That could probably be retconned in the DCnU.

Did you see him smash the central power battery?

Strong. Very very strong. One of the strongest.

Well, he was wearing rings from both ends of the spectrum for that feat. If he was wearing just a green ring it might not have been possible.

I dunno if he's as strong as Hal is. They make a point of saying Hal should not have been able to kill Krona with the ring. Period. It may not be fair, or soemthing we like, but Hal's top dog in GL.

That said, I think he's pretty damn powerful.

Don't forget that "Back in the Day" Guy was brain-damaged from his coma and very unfocused due to his constant anger issues at being cheated on by Kari Limbo as well as the tortures he suffered in the Phantom Zone.
Guy, as he is today, no longer has any of that baggage. He's a lot more focused and that makes him not only stronger but a helluva lot more powerful.

You're looking at an old post. Guy was in his own book (no John) called Emerald Warriors. When they did the new 52 he went back to being in GLC.
