Not a bad issue, with a nice use of continuity from Peter Tomasi's issues. Really nice to see Miri come back, and it was nice to see a Star Sapphire being affected by her ring to the same extent as the Red Lanterns are.

It was also a nice appearance of Tomar-Tu. A pity he's not a character we've seen used more in this book.

I wish the ending of the issue hadn't been so obvious though. It just left me reading it, waiting for the inevitable conclusion.

The whole bearer being affected(turned douche) by ring is prob set up for the type of storyline that Bedard will do in NG

decent issue but the ending was obvious

Comic books have always had significant soap opera elements--from Clark and Lois to Peter and MJ to Mark and Eve--and they always will. Sometimes relational drama is going to take center stage. That's just how it is. No sense whining about it.

I liked it over all. Again, I'm happy with one-offs.

Yeah, I like that, though I'd like to see more about it. It seems more akin to how SS use to possess Carol.
The power of love doesn't mean they're Care Bears.

Agreed. I thought it made no tactical sense for him to remove his ring though. Couldn't he just come with hands up and say "I'm not going to fight"?

That said, I liked seeing his civies when he did remove the ring. It was a cool outfit.

That's the nature of the beast. Comics are sequential, episode stories told over years.

Awesome issue glad kyle and Soranik have broken up.Better than EW and the aftermath issue this month.Kinda like the art aswell whoever did it.Thought the variant cover by morales was nice too.
I thought the kyle and tomar friendship could be on to something.
Nice change of pace and it didn't feel like a standalone issue but it wasn't part of some huge event, awesome.

                  LOOOOOOVED this issue!

Personally, I hate loose ends. And as much as I love Tomasi's writing he's left loose ends all over the Gl verse, both in GLC and EW (uh...can anybody say Sodam Yat?!)

One of those loose ends was indeed Miri and what both Kyle and Sora had "seen" in her crystal. Not to mention the relationship as a whole between the two.

I felt like Tomasi came up with this relationship just so he could tell that story where the guardians pass a new law that prohibits romantic relations between GLs and so it never grew on me because it was never truly developed.

REALLY glad to see Bedard cleaning house on that front before the relaunch. This issue was the best I've seen Bedard write and this is coming from someone who's hated everything he's done on GL since he took over.

Sure, the story had it's gaps. I mean, when was it that they started having couple issues? Why would Miri go all fucking out of her mind and psycho just to get the two together? And the whole "I dont want to see you again" bit felt a tad too soap opera-ish (or yknow like an average Marvel book! :P )

But overall it was a nice surprise to have a writer adress a situation another writer started and give the whole deal some sense of closure.

Also, nice to see Kyle taking center stage here and go back to his spider-man feel stories like the ones Marz gave us in the 90s

                  5 stars for me!

It had been so long, I forgot about the crystal thing.

War of the Green Lanterns Aftermath #1 and it will be continued in #2. This issue said it took place after those, which is pretty much what Kyle's narration said too.

Interesting point I noticed Tomar Tu referred to Tomar Re as merely his predecessor not his Father

Well, it costs $4 a pop and is pretty much GLs complaining about what happened in the war. You could get the gist of it from our thread here.

AWESOME ISSUE. I LIKE THE BREAKUP. IT DETRACTED FROM DEVELOPMENT BECAUSE I NEVER REALLY FELT IT WAS THEIR INTENTION TO KEEP THAT RELATIONSHIP SOLID. IT WAS A WASTE OF TIME.

That being said....great issue otherwise! Just thought I'd mention the relationship!
