This feels like Emerald Warriors + John.
Fortunately, I liked Emerald Warriors. I liked it a lot.

In any case, it CAN'T just be light, because light is not solid. If light CAN be solid, then there is no basis for saying that one CAN'T be immune to light, since it already isn't behaving like light is supposed to...

It's been stated multiple times that willpower is what powers the CPB, and in turn the lanterns and rings. It's not the actual energy pouring out of the rings, which has been explicitly stated to be hard-light constructs (like a hologram), or directed energy blasts. Of course, I also know that this is modern Green Lantern, so the definition changes every few months.
Regardless, one also can't be "immune" to willpower, or any other emotion. That would negate the rings' abilities upon just about anyone. For example, GLs can overcome fear...which would make them "immune" to Sinestro Corps' constructs, and we know that's not the case.

"Directed energy blasts" doesn't rule out it being will, since it doesn't specify what kind of energy.
