It felt forced to have them interact like that, considering how much they've worked together in the past.

I don't read Stormwatch, but that explanation makes sense. At least enough to satisfy me.

Overall, not a bad issue, but not great either. The concept is sort of neat, the whole "our Lanterns were somewhere while in the 'pocket dimension'" but at the same time it's a weak execution, very "of course these people have a grudge against the GLC (for whatever reason) and can kick Green Lanterns asses, what else would happen?"

        Random thoughts:

As others noted, the Keepers are shaping up to be pretty cool villains.

I liked showing the way the GLs on Oa (esp. Hannu) are dealing with the teleport and what happened.

The guy SD80MAC calls the sloppily dressed GL was way too Earth-looking in his style.

Isn't there a fail safe against GLs making constructs in their sleep? Hal mentioned that once (series 2 or ACW). If there wasn't, there's no way a GL could sleep with their ring on. Any unconscious dream/nightmare could cause untold damage.

Do we have any reason to believe this? I haven't read Stormwatch, so I don't know. I was just taking it as J'onn has never been a Leaguer or worked with Guy before in the DCnU.

Either way, I don't like it. J'onn was one of the easiest-going/likable characters before.

Since MM said he's wiping the memory and he doesn't really care to pursue this now, the cameo felt pretty forced. At least, they didn't bill it on the cover as some kind of big MM/Stormwatch crossover.

And that HAS happened. Hal turned Tom into a seagull once (a minor example of bad results), and Kyle created Oblivion (who devastated Rann, though it seems EVERYBODY does that).

I forget, now, whether they solved the problem in those cases by not sleeping with the ring on, or giving it some kind of preemptive command to only create stuff while they were conscious. And of course, however they dealt with it before is kind of irrelevant now, since continuity is rather uncertain these days.

That's what I was thinking of (the seagull thing), thanks.

As you say, though, probably doesn't matter.

The only problem with that is that people or a least Midnighter knew that MM was part of JLA

Just...interesting...but definitely broken in a few key points.

The Keepers are certainly interesting as villains I'm just interested to see them in more detail.

An unepected yet totally enjoyable cameo by the Martian Manhunter.

I'm glad we're getting to see dozens of GLs actually show up in the book. And it's got a more military feel to it which i like a lot. The keepers needed a more interesting and iconic design, though. They just look way too generic. This book, i'm enjoying 10 times more than GLNG and Red Lanterns.

I wouldnt call the cameo forced as much as unexpected. And the stormwatch bit? That's just speculation. As you point out, j'onn hasnt erased anyones mind that we know of. I think this is just one Of the unnecessary side effects of the relaunch-boot. I too, did not like the idea that guy and MM dont know each other, especially since J'onn clearly stated in Stormwatch #1 that when he "wants to be a hero" he hangs with the justice league. Of course it could mean that the current JLI is the first incarnation of the team, which would mean Guy and J'onn NEVER worked together at all. Again, a reboot hiccup i'm not very fond of, but it's not that big a deal either. I've always considered the 90's JLI a joke, so i'm not too bothered by this.

Did they kill who I think they killed? Did we lose another Lost Lantern?

I've only caught up to issue #4 but I'm with others in that this is probably the best issue so far. The MM appearance was awesome [I love Pasarin drawing other DCnU characters!] even though it was a bit strange MM came all the way from Earth to Oa just to get dirt on the enemies. Just looked at the preview for #6, looks like the Lantern I was rooting for in mostly white runs his mouth and JS has to make another last second decision. Oh well....

And no, I don't think that was the religious Lantern if that's who you're thinking it is Mrt.
