I didn't really like the vuldarian powers but I don't think they should just disappear. Was there a story i missed that explains why, and if not does anyone know?

I always assumed that when the Parallax entity was taking over John, Guy and Kilowog it forced had to force Guy's body to reject the alien DNA. Basically forcing him to just be human again in order to take control of him. Technically at the time Parallax had the power of the Spectre at his beck & call so he woulda been far more powerful at the time.
How's that? Do I get a 'no-prize'?

I just took it as a sort of twisted wish fulfillment, like it was doing with Hal (starting to rebuild Coast City), or John (making him more assertive). Deep down Guy missed being a GL, so it was taking him back to that point in his life, which involved ridding him of the Vuldarian junk that had been tacked on.

I guess if I was one of those that couldn't stand Kyle's character, or felt that it was literally impossible for Hal to ever crack for ANY reason, then I would have been out of luck, as the new status quo would have been an ongoing ordeal. But for somebody that enjoyed Kyle's story, and felt that Hal COULD have snapped (just that ET did a lousy job of portraying that, as well as leaving massive plot holes for the sake of convenience of easy "storytelling"), reading Kyle's run was just fine, since I could just ignore EXACTLY how we got there.

I am in the minority here I liked Warrior, I liked everything about it and about the Guy Series for that matter. I thought it was an amazingly stupid retcon to do any with them. I mean Guy almost never used them anymore anyway. He could have been a GL with Vuld powers. But no the Big 90s Esc button was hit and his powers are gone.
I still say that sometime in the future we'll see a story where Guy gets his ass handed to him and his ring runs out of juice with no back up GLs anywhere in sight and BOOM we have Warrior appear again and thats how he makes it out, sure a little God from the Machine but hey I like the Warrior stuff and thats how I see to get it back.

I agree with you, Jim, but at the same time I will give credit where credit is due -- they could have easily just had Guy show up at the end of Rebirth, no explanation whatsoever for his absense of Vuldarian powers. At least in Rebirth they show the "what" of it, even if not necessarily the specifics of the "how."

I really think they could have done something to explain how it happened, as it is I stick with my opinion
