The conclusion already ... it feels like this story barely happened. Maybe because the title's so misleading. Only the Reds have really faced the Third Army

Like Geoff said in multiple interviews Rise of the Third Army was not a crossover event it was just the beginning set up of the event that happens next (Wrath of the First Lantern)

Anyways I loved the preview, can't wait for this.
No Sir, I punched the viceroy in the stomach, then I headbutted him in the face. Sir.-Hal Jordan

When the heading of the book says "Ride of the Third Army" you'd think they'd play more of a role int he book, though.

A more appropriate title would be something like "By the Guardians Betrayed" for GLC. Or something like that (I can't come up with good titles, but you can see my point here, right?). Because GLC has been about TALKING about the 3rd Army, not really about actually fighting the 3rd army. I mean, looking at the list ...

GL is about Simon Baz with only the latest issue about the 3rd Army.
GLC is about the fall of Guy and the Guardians betraying the GLC, not the 3rd Army.
NG is about Kyle's quest to "master" the spectrum, not the 3rd Army.
Only Red Lanterns is actually about the "Rise of the 3rd Army".

I get that it's a marketing move by the powers-that-be at DC, but it's a marketing move that didn't work for me. I see "3rd Army" on the covers, I want to SEE the 3rd Army in the book. Not have it as an overeating background battle.

The 3rd army was rising in all the books, dreading across the universe and assimilating a shitload of people.

But mainly in the background. And avoiding just about all the main characters.

It would make sense that alot of it happened in the background as the Guardians were doing it on the low and in secret to start. They made it so that by the time the good guys figured out what was going it would be almost too late to do anything about it.

Then the title shouldn't really be "Rise of the Third Army", should it? Because that isn't what the issues are really about. The Rise of the third army is a background story at best. Only now that it's nearing it's end is it relevant.

Edit: Another analogy would be to head GL with the title "the journey of Hal Jordan" when the entire issue is actually about Simon Baz with Hal just getting one or two pages at best.

Edit #2: The Third Army is, at best, a background story in a title with the heading "Rise of the Third Army". Do you seriously not get my issue with that?

Like someone else said the book is called green lantern, not green lantern Hal Jordan. That means there's 7200 people that can be in it and its still accurate.

Were they not still rising throughout the course of the books? Pretty much all the things that went on in the books all lead back to the fact that this army is rising.

And how many actual pages have the third army appeared in? Can you honestly say the story in GLC has been ABOUT the Third Army in a direct way?

It's not about how many pages, its about advancing a story.

So what did the 3rd Army characters do to advance the story in GLC? Because it seems to me that the Guardians are the actual villains in this story; not the 3rd Army.
