And I never was satisfied by how Neron disposed of the baby Predator had with Carol Ferris...see Extreme Justice.
That was retconned away by Johns a long time ago. The Predator was just created by the first living being to feel love. That's it. The Predator is a descendant of the Entity, but since they're both embodiments of emotion (remember, in the DCU, life is an emotion), it makes sense that they'd consider each other siblings.

Plus, in the "New 52," even that may have been washed away. The entities we've seen thus far already look noticeably different than before.

That emotional stuff never worked out well to me. I mean... shouldn't the Sinestro Corps be a bunch of cowards?

Yeah, the spectrum's always been a colossal mess. But it sells books.

Well, they don't actually all work that way. Yellow looks for the capacity to inspire fear. Orange, apparently, inspires greed rather than looking for it. Compassion goes to those that DON'T feel it, to force it on them (though that may be the Indigo Tribe bypassing the rings' "standard" programming, given that Ray Palmer was selected during Blackest Night). Blue seems to go to those that both possess AND inspire Hope, though each candidate selects the next, so the criteria might change a bit. Violet HAD gone to those that had felt and LOST great love. Only Red and Green were pretty straightforward selection based on possessing enough of the desired trait oneself.

Personally, I liked that they were different, and would have been happier had the differences between the various groups been played up more. After a while, they all seemed to be distinguished only by color and the attitudes of their members.

Liking GLC more than GL at the moment , this issue was great. John's starting to have a little more personality.

However there was one cringeworthy line I laughed at.

Only the rings do that, and they've been largely inconsistent as you noted. The colors of the emotional spectrum itself are fully based on feeling said emotions. So for yellow, yes, it's all about feeling intense fear. That's how all of the entities and that nonsense were created.

I thought we were TALKING about how the various Corps worked, and whether the Sinestro Corps members should be people who FEEL fear.

Yes, the yellow entity is based on fear. It feeds on the fear of living beings. I was simply pointing out that saying that Sinestro Corps members should be people that FEEL fear is inaccurate, as the way the various Corps relate to the emotion they represent has NEVER been a consistent rule. To assume that the members of a certain Corps are chosen because they feel the emotion in question is not warranted, given what we've seen.

Right. And it changes every few issues, anyway.

Parallax was created by feeling fear. That's why becoming an entity that does the exact opposite by creating fear makes no sense. (Along with everything else about it, for that matter...)

Makes perfect sense to me. The entity owes its existence to sentient life feeling fear. That being the case, I would expect it (and in fact ALL the entities) to, themselves, be about encouraging others to feel the emotion that created and sustains them. And it seems like, in one way or another, they all are, aren't they?

I always believed that The Entity should not have been it's own separate thing and that it should only have appeared physically with all the entities combined. That's what I thought Krona was eventually going to do with them.

I always saw it as rage, avarice, fear, will, hope, compassion and love together "make up" life and that it wasn't counted as an emotion (all the colors merging to make white) and devoid of all of those feelings/emotions you would not be alive.

That theme is also seems to be carried out in other places. When we see Indigo for the first time (I think) she believes that they need to combines all their rings to form white in order to defeat Nekron. To defeat a black lantern you need to combine at least two colors. Kyle having to master all the emotions together is another reiteration of this theme of combing.

I also wasn't really happy that John Stewart was able to channel death.

I read it tonight. Very solid issue. I gave it 3 stars, and that's meant as a good solid issue, worth the money, that was worth reading. Right now, I'm more happy with GLC than GL which I feel is average.

                          :Moderator:

While nothing mind-blowing, the new creative team is a huge breath of much needed air.

The fact that both the Khund and the Durlans have been brought back into the fold this early on makes me very happy. It's nice to see some of the other races in the DCU get some face time in GL + GLC, instead of everything being "Corps Vs Corps" or "GL/Guardian" related.

I'd love to see appearances by the Dominators, Spider Guild and the Vega System in the future.

I'm really glad of the way John is portrayed, however don't u think he has been captured n tortured 1s too many times? Body captured by Parallax in Rebirth,In Scw, trapped in Xanshi, tied in brightest day, captured by cyborg Superman, tortured by Krona to Mogo for the universe and Glc reputation, caught again in the new 52, tortured n forced to kill again, 2 times in a row, caught n tortured by Voltdoom. Now caught by the Durans with power ring removed??? Why must John always has to be defeated easily caught and tortured in every storyline, making him the Weakest of them all Green lantern?! Dc can you stop this capture torture Shit all over John Stewart and do nothing with his origins, background and his relationships with his corps mates and friends?! Give the man his dues!
