No way in hell they handcuff Venditti and the others to use a character in Johns' prologue.

Johns needs to stop making Green Lanterns and just leave the whole franchise alone. : [

Did Katma even exist in the New 52, let alone get killed? (Though it definitely would not have been by the Predator, if so. That was a vastly different character pre-Johns.)

Katma was killed by Star Sapphire, not the Predator.

That's right, I forgot about that. I got confused about the whole Carol/SS/Predator stuff from those days.

With good reason. It was a mess.

Indeed. The Geoffcons only complicated things. It would've been best to just toss the whole thing.

The Predator had merged with Carol before that to turn her back into Dark Phoen--I mean evil Star Saphire. They later blamed her murder of Kat on the Star Saphire persona to clear Carol of wrongdoing. In a way, it was her Parallax exoneration moment. I'm shocked nobody's thought to link the two events (ET and Kat's murder) together now that the Predator is considered a colored entity like Parallax.

Probably because neither one made a lick of sense.

I try to think about the Predator as little as possible. IMHO, it was a real low point in the series the first time around, and it was an even lower point when it got dredged up by Gerard Jones. Having it morphed into an emotional entity was, IMHO, a step UP, if you can believe it, though that's not saying much, and I could do without another Predator appearance pretty much infinitely.

                          A KATma tui FANCIER'S REPLY

As a devoted Kat[ma Tui]Fancier,I very much hope it is Katma Tui,Korugar's Finest, regardless of what has happened in the decades since the desgraceful events of Action Comics #601-602.A new Generation very mnuch needs to know Katma Tui as more jost a John Stewart supporting character.Prior to 1985 she was her own character and may have fallen in love with Hal Jordan. The picture looks far more like Katma Tui than any other character, and teasings can be misleading.Also-the very first female GL at all was Katma Tui,Korugar's Finest.Feminists enjoy her,as well

Though Geoff isn't in charge of the GL books any more, so maybe that's not a given.
He's still writing the the big company events IIRC.
