      Spoilers below

No. They just argued and he quickly punched Hal, but Hal blew it off and asked John to stay and help rebuild the corps which he started with by adding building to Mogo.

        Colors: acceptable
        Plot: multiple plots, for once
Story: good, and moving forward. I had the feel of a Legion of Super-Heroes story, with new and old characters interacting.
Upward or downward? Upward. Mogo got a new city around the new CPB.

        Overall: 3 out of 5.

John sure didn't put up much of a fight for leadership of the Corps, but at least he seemed to get Hal to re-think his rash decision on taking out all the Non-Green ring wielders.

The secondary story was alright. Bloody Durlans are crafty.

          3/5.

I am gonna let my money talk for me and not buy the issue. I don't know what exatcly has been retconed out,but Hal Led the Corps many of times in the 80's no all of a sudden he is helpless and stupid. It may seem like the time is finally coming that I take my found memories of Green Lantern and leave.

I think all of Hal's rash decisions aren't so much to show how bad he is as plot devices. The fact is they wanted Guy on RL, so Hal sent him to the Reds. The writers/editorial wanted the GLC at war with everyone so Hal decides to ban non-green light.

1980s Hal was in a completely different universe.

The writers have been doing their best since Brightest Day and Third Army in changing the Green Lantern Corps from a force for good, law, and order in the universe into something totally despised by every alien race. It's not just the Durlan plot. The GLC are not seen as meddlers or even competing with L.E.G.I.O.N. as a security force but actual meddlers.

Because the writers across DC never have any continuity, just an ever-present "now", we have JLA 3000 #1 calling the GLC the "most despised in the universe". Quite the far cry from what GL #20's epilogue with "hidden Sinestro" and the Templar Guardians showed us.

                      This.

Venditti is basically a hired "goon".

Jruk is definitely my favorite part of this series, I like his character and his construct arm thing is cool too. But the John and Hal confrontation seemed unnecessary and didn't really do anything other than show that John has anger issues, which isn't anything new. The new Oa though looks really nice, I'm starring to like the idea of Mogo being the home planet of the GL's more and more. Overall, pretty good issue: 3/5

Read this issue, I'm now officially interested in the Green Lantern world again. Glad to be back. Just a great issue and some solid storytelling all around. Especially with the balancing of all the story elements. Glad Arisia got some love, even if it was a babysitting mission.
