This,it's always the same bs.Originally posted by Andrew NDB View Post"John Stewart must lead the weakened Green Lanterns against a truly demonic threats expanding its dark reach across the cosmos"? Seriously? Give them a fucking break already.
I wonder what will happen to the book post convergence, fingers crossed we get some downtime between the next end of the world, you know give the lantern corps some time to police the galaxy like they shouldProud owner of a Justice League Europe number 1 issue.
Which currently is worth less than my Kick-Ass 2 issue 1.

I think that's what they're doing here, though. They're going to root out a criminal faction that's taken hold of a planet. Sounds like policing. I don't really mind the Lantern Corps continually fighting threats so long as there are great character driven stories in there, too, which Green Lantern Corps has had recently, I think.Originally posted by CaptainFrxz View PostThis,it's always the same bs.

Also, it's great to see the Guardians bestowing leadership of the Corps to John Stewart!

My guess is that it was intentional. It also says here, "Let all who worship evil's might," instead of the more common, "Let those who worship evil's might." The "Blackest" I understand (at least I think I do), but I'm curious as to why Jensen chose to swap "those" for "all." I don't really have a problem with it, but I'm just wondering.

Which kind of made sense for Yellow (Sinestro twisting the GLC oath to his own purposes), Blue (presumably written by Ganthet and/or Sayd, former Guardians of the Universe), possibly Indigo (given Abin Sur's involvement), and at a stretch Violet (Zamarons having a common background with the Guardians...though they disagreed enough to break away, so why they would make such a similarly constructed oath is anybody's guess).Originally posted by Andrew NDB View PostWell, in the 80s the GLs were actively encouraged to come up with their own oaths. It wasn't until Geoff came along and made it standard, with 6 others Corps all having oaths with matching syllables and all that nonsense.
I guess, with so many others having them similarly, it could even be argued that Larfleeze would, naturally, want one like it for himself.
But Red, too? That made zero sense.

They went back and forth on that. The very first reference to its origin was that Hal made it up to reflect three adventures he had and his own beliefs. Later, many alien GLs are shown to use it and gradually it became the default oath. Yes, later, some GLs (like Chance) were shown to have made their own, but I always figured that was just an allowance in the corps--rather like their was a standard uniform but certain GL (Guy and Vance again) made their own.Originally posted by Andrew NDB View PostWell, in the 80s the GLs were actively encouraged to come up with their own oaths. So when will Jonh become an Indigo and link this up with FE? Come to think of it, what was up with the Indigoīs Corpīs betrayal?

I like John being the leader more than Hal. Hal should be the face of the GLC out in the field. I wish they didn't tear Hal down first, but this is a good development for John, too bad he is only the leader for three issues. Not sure I like there being male Star Sapphires though. . . .
