Here's a question I'll pose to the board. Somehow I don't think I'll be shocked by the result, only disappointed.

Who deserves a book more, John or Kyle?

Have to go with Kyle.
John had his shot in Mosaic -- and it was moderately good -- but he's never really managed to rise above supporting character status in anything other than things like the childrens cartoons, and I'm not certain he was ever really intended to for an extended period of time upon his creation.
Like him or hate him, Kyle carried the torch for over 10 years -- not a couple of issues or even a few arcs -- as the one and only Green Lantern in DC comics. For an entire generation and maybe then some, he is Green Lantern. That his role now is somewhat changed as Hal and the Corps is back and all is all well and good, but if "Who gets a solo book" is ever on the table again, it's gotta be Kyle.

Well, based on my love of the Mosaic series, I think I LIKE John better than Kyle. And if a John series were anything like Mosaic was, I'd rather have that. But Kyle is obviously (it seems obvious to me, anyway) more popular with comic audiences, so I'd say he merits a series more. And, frankly, I have zero confidence that a John series WOULD be anything like Mosaic, or that the characterization of John in said series would be recognizable as the same character as in Mosaic.

Although I voted for John having another shot at a series, Kyle like Hal has been " the only game in town " in the comics and has the fanbase to backup solid sales numbers. So he should get another shot at a series.
On a personal note, the biggest reason on why I would rather Kyle have another series than John is because some comic fans wouldn't view or judge a John Stewart series on the basis of being a comic that extends the GL franchise, but more or less as a PC ( i.e. black ) comic book only.
Crazy huh?

John historically doesn't sell well... Kyle sold fairly well 8-9 years, finally dropping off and so they brought Hal back... I think John should get an active role in the JLA and Kyle should take Guy's place in the GLC series arcs, and Guy should fall into the limbo like John has been in.Do good. Be well. Make happy.

I vote for John for two reasons:
1. I like john more. Pretty simple.
2. John can be put into a book with any number ofpremises, and the creative team can run with it. The problem with Kyle is that he's kind of boxed into this thing where he really only works well when he's the one and only, and just learning about everything around him. John simply works better as a veteran, and Kyle kind of needs to be unique.
Not saying a Kyle solo book wouldn't work or anything, obviously history would prove otherwise. Just that for where both characters are right now, John has more appeal.

As long as there is ample time for Johns personal life outside the GLC then...
Screw personal lives, these are GLs here, lets see them interact with other GLs and take on the baddies. Every 2-3 issues they can chill somewhere and have a drink, thats all the "personal life" I want in a GLC comic.

I think Kyle more than John. I never cared much for the Mosaic series but I did enjoy reading when Kyle was the only GL (Even though I prefer Hal and Guy).
