  • Were you a fan of his old series? Would you buy a new one?

I talk about the series (later retitled "Guy Gardner: Warrior") that ran from 1992 - 1996. Were you a fan, and do you have any fond memories from it?

Me, I rather enjoyed it. Never took itself too seriously, was never pretentious, and made no balls about being a fucking good time.

I agree. About a year ago I purchased the entire (Guy/Warrior) series off of ebay without having read any of it. I really enjoyed it. I like Guy where he is right now with the Green Lantern Corps. He is being written perfectly. If he ever leaves that title I would love to see him in his own book again...as long as it is not written or drawn by Howard Chaykin.

I would buy a Guy Gardner series, just becasue he is a GL character... would I enjoy it? Probably not. Guy is a great side character, but I don't like him enough to enjoy a solo Guy series... and I never have.

LOL, what can I say, I am not a Guy fan.

However, I did enjoy the "A Guy and his G'Nort" storyline from v3.

I loved this book up until Beau Smith came on and changed Guy into a tattooed redneck. Until that point though Gerard Jones and even Chuck Dixon did right by Guy. Joe Staton's art was never better and the stories were just fun as all hell. Great stuff! I'm glad Guy is back to his old self...the man you love to hate. Dennis Leary without the restraint. GUY RULES!!!!

I love Guy he is 2nd only to Kyle in my book and thats just cause I grew up with Kyle (I came on board around 3rd series #30) and have been playing catch up ever since

Of course I always love the asshole in any story and Guy is the asshole of the GLC thats why I DVR House and watch every episode I think its because I would like to not care enough to tell everybody how I feel about there behavior like these characters

I loved Guy's series. ALL of it- even the Beau Smith stuff which was a little iffy at best sometimes. I think if the art had been even a little less terrible, people would have warmed up to it more.

Though Fire's line in this panel is mostly what I think of when I think of Guy's Warrior days.

Guy's my favorite lantern, so if he got his own book again I'd totally buy it, y'know, just *because*. However, GLC is at least 50% his book anyways, so I really don't think he needs it (especially since the bar burnt to the ground in Rebirth. D: Johns, how could you do that!?)

That was a very strange issue! (with the Batman:TAS-style mixed into it) What did you think of the "Gal Gardner" one?

Yes... there was no good reason to burn the bar down. Would be a perfectly sound hangout for him between missions and his duties and such, and he could've easily let someone else manage it while he's away. Just seems like lazy thinking : "Clean sweep for Gardner, no more Vuldarian powers, grow the top of his hair again, old jacket, outfit, and no more bar!" Making him a Lantern is all with a similar look to his past is fine and all, but sweeping everything he'd accomplished in his solo series is a bit much.

I wouldn't count on it, but here's to hoping.

That series and whole direction were the drizzling shits. I don't EVER want to see Guy Gardner go back to that! He's perfect the way he is right NOW in GLC. It's like Geoff picked up where Steve Englehart was headed with him before they turned him into a retard.

And the Vulcrapian powers and other nonsense doesn't EVER need to be mentioned again in the comics. A horrible LOOK, horrid powers, lame name...everything about it sucked balls. I have every issue, but I assure you, it's only to fulfill my geeky obsession with having a complete GL collection. Godawful stuff!

But right NOW? Guy is the man. Keep him this way.
