  • Vuldarian or no?

Should he have been left with his Vuldarian powers?

I think it would have been kind of neat if Guy got to keep his powers, and get a ring again/rejoin the Corps.

I think he should've kept the Vuldarian powers and turned down the ring... I just think that would've been more Guy at the time. Now, he's kinda back to his old antics, but thoroughly serious at teh same time... he just doesn't seem like Guy anymore... not to me, anyway.

No. I enjoyed his series, but always felt the whole "I'm half alien" story was kind of lame. I much prefer him as a Green Lantern. As for keeping his Vuldarian powers while being a GL, well its kind of redundant. Don't you think?

Yeah, I've just never really liked him as a GL. I wouldn't want him to revert back, now, though... that would just be another stupid revert making Rebirth even more pointless... which shouldn't be done to sich a great story.

I had to say no. I never liked the Vuldarean thing. Maybe I woulda liked it if it was a new character...but to fundamentally change Guy into that abomination was insulting. I didn't mind him having Sinestro's ring...but I like my Guy in a GLC uniform.

I liked Warrior, and would have loved for him to keep those powers maybe alter the chest tats to a stylized gl symbol ??? I hated the way the made him a GL again

Smith wanted to do more of a powerless Guy type of like Doc Savage, but the editor at the time wanted him to have some kind to power to attract reader, so he came up with the whole Vuldarian thing.

GL Guy all the way, but I also hated how they made him a GL. That was way to easy and then not to explain why he was changed back.

Keep him a GL, though I wouldn't mind seeing a story where his ring charge dies some villian thinks he's got guy and his arm morphs into a blade again. Leave it painful like early in the run. Throw in some jibber jabber about Vuldarian powers reacting to GL energy like The Reach stuff in Blue Beetle. He can't use those powers while his ring is charged the ring automatically dampers them. When he does use them they hurt like hell like when they first manifested.

In the capacity you've just cited, that would be perfect.

I'm just glad he's a GL again- I didn't really care whether he kept his alien DNA or not. I don't get why he had to lose it, since the ring really wouldn't care, but y'know. Housecleaning, rebooting and all that.

Because no GL can be better or more powerful than Hal Jordan.

No. Guy's Vulcrapian powers were just about the stupidest super power ever created. Also, he's meant to be a GL, not an Irish Tatanka wannabe. WE don't need any more remnants of bad 90's comics lingering around than absolutely necessary.

I really liked Warrior and I didn't see any reason Guy couldnt have kept the powers and been in the Corps .... Using the Warrior as back up when say his ring went dead or whatever.

Would've been neat, but at the same time I can understand a bit of 90's housecleaning.

Let's not forget... the only reason Guy got those powers was because his book was approaching cancellation numbers and needed a massive retooling.

Yes, but the powers did last a fairly long time.

Also I suppose you could say that Rebirth and the current state of Kyle is 90s Housecleaning.
