Okay.... so apparently Carol Ferris, Walker, and Glomulus can all get new costumes or tweaks, but Kyle can't?!?



It looks like Kirkham is drawing his hair a little longer, and the symbol is probably colored wrong, but I'm a bit disappointed. Hal's suit got tweaked. Other New Guardian's suits were tweaked. Hell Glomulus got an entire costume!

And with the idea that the different rings will find their way to Kyle, does that mean we'll see a red, orange, yellow, indigo, and sapphire Kyle? If they go cheap and just recolor his suit again like they did with the blue I'll be PISSED!

As for the rest of the NG's, Walker looks worse, Carol looks like the 90' threw up on her, and of the bunch I like Glomulus the best.

I'm not convinced that's Carol.

And besides, Hal fans already complain that Kyle's had too many costumes (which is woefully incorrect). I have no problem with Kyle sticking with his current garb, though I still miss his classic '90s uniform.

An off-center badge and a crabmask does not make a Kyle suit. It's too simple and not original enough.

Make the gloves green, the torso white, and center his backwards black circled badge and it'd look a little better....

Glomulus doesn’t look any different to me:



Saint Walker looks like he’s traded in his blue bracers for white gloves, and overall the costume looks like it has more similarities to recent versions of Hal’s costume, but those seem like minor differences.

The Star Sapphire is the only one who really looks like something new. To be honest, compared to most other Sapphire costumes, I love it.

Everyone else looks pretty much the same. I wonder if these are the final designs we'll see inside the book.

I’m not sure what to think about the Star Sapphire. It can’t really be Carol, can it?

I was hoping for a new costume for Kyle that would be a little more original. I like his current costume okay, but it doesn’t stand out.

For some reason I always though Glomulus just had a badge and that's it. I need to clean my glasses and re-read some issues....

Here's a few more recent designs I came up with for him. I think something about like what's in the center image would work well enough for Kyle, but I'm partial to them all....

And as for kyle getting a redisgn ... It's a uniform.He made his costume different in the 90's because he was the last green lantern and the writers and editorial wanted something different.
Now, Kyle's part of the GLC ,Space cops so to speak.You don't see cops running round with fancy different costumes.
Why should he be different ? because he's an artist? because he's been Ion ? he's none of them anymore.
I like your designs KL but.sometimes change isn't needed.kyle hasn't done anything special to deserve a new costume.

Of course not, but it does matter. Otherwise, Wonder Woman's pants and Superman's trunks wouldn't be such a big deal to people. A good costume is part of a superhero's appeal.

For starters I doubt it. The character wasn't made to be part of a team, she was suppose to be a supporting character, plus I find the whole sapphire get-up has really been overdone lately. Also I doubt Johns would let anyone draw her with clothes that weren't revealing. Also that looks more like an alien!

The uniform argument is so artificial. All four of the Green Lanterns of Earth wear completely different costumes. Dozens of humanoid Green Lanterns wear costumes that are wildly different from Hal Jordan’s, and have done so since long before Kyle came along.

Kyle doesn’t need to wear a costume that looks like Hal Jordan’s costume any more than Arisia and Guy do. Great superheroes should have great costumes. Kyle is a great superhero. He should have a great costume.
