NEW Lantern of 2814... is Kyle?!?

So.... at the end of Aftermath we find out that Kyle is being reassigned to 2814 to distance him from Natu and John. Oh, and that the Corps is almost completely turning against Earth Lanterns.

So will Kyle show up on Earth in New Guardians more often than we think? I hope so, it's been too long and we need to establish what parts of his history remain and how they've been altered. I'm guessing he's around 20-21 now?

There's nothing to conclude Kyle will be any younger. I know how bad you want a teenaged Lantern, though.

Well John and Guy are in the GLC book as Honor Guard; it's possible Kyle and Sinestro could be the official sector partners for 2814. Not sure how Kyle's role in the New, New, NEW Guardians will factor into that.

There's nothing to conclude Kyle will be any younger. I know how bad you want a teenaged Lantern, though.

Oh I don't want a teen Kyle GL in the slightest. But I'd say in present [and soon to be former] continuity he's been at it for roughly 4-5 years. No way they give him as much experience as Hal with the 5 year time-line, and there's no way to make sense out of the two of them being so close in age. To Kyle fans it won't seem like he's much younger, but they'd have to shave off at least two or three years experience to make Hal the veteran.

They could do that, but it would be kind of odd to change out the GL on their suddenly BEST selling title immediately after the first arc ends.

I'd bet on Hal getting his ring back JUST about the time the first JLA arc ends and they have to make the jump to current time just to keep him in the League.

That would potentially end up with Hal and Kyle as sector partners.

Yup. Count on this.

I guess they'd kind of have to at this point. Kyle's not Honor Guard anymore and he's stationed on Earth. Guy and John are both Honor Guard so are exempt from sector assignments.

It almost seems like they're de-emphasizing sector partners, though.

Except John was Hal's sector partner throughout the current Green Lantern run and you hardly ever saw them together in the book.
