The mask was originally dissed by Guy Gardner/Warrior during a JLA annual or 80 page giant when he called Kyle "crab face". Shrinking the mask somewhat isn't that big of a deal to me, neither is giving the thing more shape around the nose so he doesn't look like a person without a nose when in costume. But as far as people who can draw the mask well there is a pretty short list. Most artists either make it too big or too small, or just dont't pay enough attention to the smaller details on the sides and between the eyes.
