I can see the Blues, Yellows and even the Indigoes having GLC-type oaths, given that they all seem to have had ex-GL members (or Guardians) in on their creation. But Violet having a similar oath already makes no sense, and RED having the same type of oath makes EVEN LESS than no sense. Orange would just cap it off for me, and I'm glad that, so far, we have avoided it.

How does Violet not make sense? Zamarons split off from Guardians. They wanted to create a ring for their Sapphires because they realized the crystal didnt work as well as they'd hoped. Makes sense for them to try and copy the GLC.

Seriously, they split off from the Guardians and think they are essentially wrong on a fundamental level, but then even go so far as to copy the form and meter of the GLC oath? Not as absurd as Atrocitus doing it, but still silly, IMHO.

And the same is true of the Blue, Yellow, Indigo, and Violet oaths. Like I said, that makes some sense for Blue, Yellow, and probably Indigo. Violet seems iffy, given the Zamaron's seeming contempt for the Guardians, and Red seems absurd, IMHO.
Unless the form of the oaths is something intrinsic to the entities of the spectrum, and they all just happen to like that type of poetry?Last edited by Mister Ed; 03-09-2012, 08:26 PM.

I've seen this one floating around for a bit, but haven't been able to track down a specific source for it-
This power is mine, this is my light.
Be it in bright of day, or black of night.
I lay claim to all that falls within my sight,
To take what I want, That is my right!
Anyone know anything about this one?

All the groups having matching oaths just makes the whole expansion of the Corps even MORE lame and trite than it already was. The blues are really the only other group that it makes sense for.
And honestly? I wish that most of the groups didn't use rings and lanterns.
The indigos should have just used the staff with no ring, just one power item.
And the Star Saphires should have kept their gem with no lantern.
Blue and yellow could have ripped off the ring and lantern theme of the GLC.
Orange should have just been an orange lamp Larfleeze carried with him and no ring.
The reds could have just had some big red dildo that they beat people over the head with.
