I have a felling this may lead to the GL crossover event.

The trend we're seeing so far says that the Blue Battery will be damaged/destroyed and Walker will be the only Blue left (or one of very few).

The Red Battery, decaying and corrupted.
The Yellow Battery, deactivated and buried.
The Violet Battery, WAS destroyed, prior to the DCnU, now who knows, but with the Red's attacking, it could easily be trashed as well.
The only reason the Indigo Battery still exists, IMHO, is because it is integral to plans for resisting the Guardians. After that's over, I fully expect IT to also get destroyed or damaged, leaving only a few Indigos.

While I don't mind the idea of the other Corps getting drastically reduced or eliminated, having it all happen at once is a bit of a missed opportunity, IMHO. It just underlines how little thought has gone into developing these various Corps as independent entities. They all popped up at once to service one storyline, and it seems that they will all largely go away at once to service another, leaving only a few random colored heroes.

Would rather have had each Corps have its own internally logical arc, rather than having pretty much everything that happens with them and their members be only in service to a larger story.

I don't believe they're really going. The Indigo battery was destroyed and immediately re-created. I'm sure the RL battery will be restored because there has been no word of the series being cancelled. I think the Sinestro Corps will probably be the last to return but only because they'll have to do some big story to get it back.

I dunno. I forsee the RL battery being stabilized, so that it can support a small, core membership of RLs. I would be very surprised if the Blues and Sapphires don't suffer a severe depletion of their numbers as well. Yellow is already down to just one.

But really, whether they survive or not, the fact that they are all seeing major reversals at the same time just serves to underscore for me the fact that they were never really though out and designed as viable independent entities, but just existed to service the overall plot and create a small number of new power-ringed characters. They don't seem to have their own stories to tell. Even the RLs, despite having their own series, still seem to be existing mainly as an adjunct, with whatever independent story they MIGHT have been trying to tell put on hold as soon as they are needed to tie-in to whatever is going on the the larger GL universe.

See I can totally see them having plenty of stories to tell because all characters have plenty of stories to tell especially new ones. I would totally buy a Yellow Lantern Corps book, a Blue Lanterns book, and so on and so forth. Because I love the Lantern Corps!

I agree, they COULD. That just doesn't seem to be how they have been handled. I wish they had.

Man, the art really brought this issue down. From FABIO-Kyle to horrible scale to just generally bland art.

Like West, I wasn't thrilled with the art but I liked the story a lot. And this issue should have pretty big consequences.

I liked it, but I don't understand how Saint Walker could have possibly got "Larfleeze" out of the whole Reach mess.

It's definitely a stretch, but Larfleeze did once attack Odym.
