We kinda knew this was where it was leading and the SDCC confirmed it, but what are your thoughts on this? Should Kyle have a ring for each Corps, or just be a White Lantern and tap into all the emotions with one light?
I'm kinda on the fence with this. While the idea seems cool enough and there's finally the possibility of Kyle getting a new suit, I can see it getting old quick. Isn't an Indigo Lantern basically the same thing as somebody mastering all of the emotional energies in the spectrum? I know a [insert color] Lantern has to be within range to steal power from, but if you cut that limitation out of the equation what's the real difference?
Honestly I'd rather just see Kyle as a White Lantern. Hal already went through a handful of costumes and rings and while it sold GL comics for a time, I don't think there's enough interest to do it again with Kyle Rayner long term in GL: NG. And where's the fun in it if he just masters the energies and isn't actually a member of the different Corps'? And just what reason [on Earth or anywhere for that matter] would he have to use fear, greed, or love on the battle field?
I know we've already seen Kyle as a Super Lantern in the earlier issues of NG, but I don't wanna see Kyle running around in that suit on the regular. And while seeing him in red, or yellow, and some Tarzan style violet might be cool for a bit, him just running around and switching colors/suits in a moments notice is lame. Just being the sole White Lantern wouldn't be as bad [especially if he could right wrongs and revive heroes who die in battle]. I still think if any one GL was gonna change to anything and it last any amount of time in-continuity, Guy should've been a Red Lantern longer.
I hope after the idea of a super Lantern has faded away and this gimmick runs it's course that Kyle goes back to being a regular GL. Just with a new GL suit
