Can't wait to see the battle between Kyle & Ganthet and how exactly that plays out. I wonder if Sayd will play a factor anymore (aside from making Kyle a ring magnet in the first place)

Least I know they both live thanks to Geoff. Hopefully Ganthet gets restored to his previous self.

I was hoping this would be like every other #0 issue and we'd see more of Kyle's history revealed for the New52 universe. Looks like this is just fodder leading up to the new car-jacking Arab-American Lantern and the Third Army.

If I wasn't the type to get every issue I'd say pass. The cover is awful though. If they had variants for the #0's, this is one time I'd go out of my way to find one....

And if they don't start coloring his f***ing badge right I'm gonna start sending hate mail. Really, if they wanted to make the Lantern part white make the background green instead of black. A black and white badge just looks stupid and bush league....

I had some issues with this. The main thing being that it seem as though Carol and Kyle never met.

I didn't take it that way. The very fact that Carol knew Kyle's name and recognized him (and likely vice versa though the dialogue doesn't prove it) seem to indicate they've met but haven't worked extensively with each other.

At any rate, it was okay. Not thrilled with the first artist. And why is RL Kyle in a Cyclops helmet?

That last page is quite an interesting (and unexpected, to me) twist.

With Kyle tapping into the other lantern corps, I like his Indigo and Red lantern looks. But I wonder what the love lantern will look like.

Good but not great read. Bedard has done more for Carol in one issue than Johns has in his 80+ issues of GL. Hopefully when Kuder gets on a regular schedule, we'll have a consistent look to New Guardians.

It's a step in the right direction. Although I'm disappointed to see Fatality go without the book ever acknowledging her history with Kyle, I'm warming to Carol on the book. Makes me wonder exactly how much time has passed since the start of the Indigo story, though. It's been months in real life, but I guess it's been mere moments comic time.

My only beef (or maybe ... confusion is a better word) is that it isn't really an issue 0. Of course, it's not really Kyle's origin that needs clarification, but the entirety of Emerald Twilight and his life since Jade and Donna Troy aren't canon anymore (and him and Carol not really knowing each other pales in comparison to that continuity pothole). But there's not really any way that'd be an entertaining read, more like frustrating and annoying. It's probably best to just kinds shake my head and look away from the continuity nightmare that Kyle's life has become.

Of course, I do like that we're not forced to endure a break in the story too. And hey - the new colors aren't just his standard costume recolored slightly. Nice.

Not nice? MORE prophecies. Since when has the Star Saphire been able to tell the future? Did they really need to pull that out of their hat? Because it won't ever be used again. I guess they just couldn't figure out how the Hell Kyle would know the Guardians have gone crazy, but it's terribly obvious and overdone in the GL titles.

Designs for the other Corps' versions of Kyle could have been a lot better.

Not a bad issue overall, but not a particularly good one, either.
