I can understand Carol through a leap of logic. I mean, she gets visions now, so why not?

But I don't get how Jedah Caul can possibly know. He's a deadbeat GL, right? I can't buy that Salaak would tell him.

The next issue of NG should show us for sure, but I think this issue was supposed to come before it.

Jediah Caul could have been able to monitor the conversations (with his ring) of guy, kyle , hal or any lanterns that had contact with the third army. Assuming that he was Black Ops, he could have done that without no one noticing. That,s what h's trained for, and we can assume that he knows the weaknesses of the corps in terms of investigation tactics. Only my theory, but still plausible
With blood and rage of crimson red,
Ripped from a corpse so freshly dead,
      Together with our hellish hate,
We'll burn you all--That is your fate!

Well, any GL COULD have monitored them. I mean, they all have "magic wishing rings that can do anything". But why WOULD he? Especially if he's in deep cover sectors away, having been "cut off from the Guardians a long time ago"?

All signs point to this issue being in the future. I suppose we'll see next week or so. If Saint Walker comes around in the next issue of New Guardians we'll know definitively if this issue was set in the future (or concurrently) or if the writer is just not in synch with the Third Army "storyline".

Not very good. I get that it was simply a pilot/spin off issue for Threshold, I do. It was like old 70s and 80s tv sitcoms where the entire episode was based around some new character and a potential cast to guage if it could pull off its own series. Did it work as a GL story? Not at all. Kyle is pretty much an afterthought here. Did the Threshold preview work? No. If anything, it made Threshold a generic purchase for me to keep my GL collection complete than anything to do with me buying it out of interest for the characters. I didn't care for Caul one way or the other, and I have no interest in his supporting cast.

The most dangerous game theme on other planets is kind of cool on paper but I don't see myself really enjoying this. I'm basically in for the 5 or so issues that the strip runs, and then I'm jumping right off.

            That literally made me cringe.

Nice story. Wrong book to publish it in. Although a good Carol story is worth its weight in, well, sapphires, this was NOTHING like a good Carol story. Shame on you, Keith Giffen.

Even though the Annual is out since one month I just found the time to read it now, stopped after half of the issue. It was really... not good, boring for me, and I really diskliked the art. Hope NG#17 will be back on course when I get it next week....
