I hope not, that latest GL outfit of his is so boring. He needs a new GL uniform at least.

I don't think white lantern Kyle will last long. the cover of an upcoming issue shows the uniform cracking and deteriorating. So I think he will be back to a green lantern right after fighting the first lantern. I'm sure after that he will lose access to all the other spectrums as well.

I'm loving this white lantern Kyle! I should really get onto making a micro of this.

Volthoom is not new, as the character existed before...we just knew very little about him, nor did he ever have a physical appearance (that I can recall). I think Johns is just going to take whatever was there before, and run with it to make it his own (as he's done with other villains like Black Hand).
I know he's Not "New" persay, but the way he's being used he will be. The only other Volthoom is the one that created Power Ring's um Power Ring. So a new character a la Atrocitus

That's what GL has been since vol. 4. I do not know why you guys are surprised. But my point was not that he'll be tied to the spectrum but he'll be a new character not a time displaced kyle, sinestro, or krona like it's been suggested around here.

Maybe. But every antagonist since Geoff Johns took over the GL universe has been connected to the emotional spectrum. They've been telling the same story over and over again. If he can recycle an old idea, he'll do it.

No matter who Volthoom ends up being (and I'm sure it'll be someone from the GL cast), it's going to suck. For the reason alone that it'll end up being something future writers have to write around, ignore, and then flat out retcon away.
Pretty sure he will not be someone from the current GL cast.

Well, the New 52 stuff has been selling well, and that's all that DC cares about. It's a business. Once sales drop too much...they'll cancel RL and NG...and much later, reboot things all over again.

Precisely why "The New 52" is doomed to failure. Those who refuse to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. How long before Wave 4 of "The New 52?" And which Lantern title will be first to die? [Probably Red Lanterns, but at the rate we're going the others won't be far behind...]

    will return, someday

forever, if only in fan fiction

Memo for Tom Kalmaku, wherever you are: "FIX IT!"

Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the older titles on Comixology. Great color.

I meant we'll find out he created it or some such nonsense.

Maybe Volthoom is the antimatter universe version of Kyle Rayner? Maybe Volthoom is the Maltusian translation for "kyle Rayner"? Maybe Volthoom isn't a bad guy since he hates the guys who are trying to destroy all life in the universe? HMMMMM start thinking,,,,has anyone noticed too that The First Lantern's auras include Black and White light, not just the ROYGBIV? Kyle was chosen as a Black Lantern after he died, now he's a white lantern too,,,HMMMMMMM,,,,I know I wildly speculating, but it's fun isn't it.

Agreed. When I proposed the idea, we knew next to nothing about the First Lantern. Now, not only does it seem impossible, but I would also no longer even like the idea, because it would mean that Kyle would somehow be turned into the nasty piece of work that the First Lantern has been implied to be.
