Reading that preview, I have a sinking feeling that we are going to end up with a "Warp Six Speed Limit" situation, here.
Relic will prove to be a danger that must be taken down, but in the end everybody will realize that while his methods were wrong, his conclusions were right, and overuse of the various colors of energy poses some existential threat to the universe, and they have to put restrictions on how they use their rings. And everybody will get powered down to some degree, or Corps will have to severely limit their numbers, or more likely both.
Personally, at least as far as the GLC goes, I prefer that the use of the rings only be limited by the will and the imagination, and any "weakness" that limits their effectiveness (if there is one) be specific and able to be worked around, rather than broad-based and universal.

It's my guess that this upcoming event is some means to limit the other colored corps/emotional spectrum/entities. If that's so, I have to applaud the writers, because I think Johns got pretty out of hand with them and their roles in the stories. Eventually it got to the point where all Green Lantern was about was Lanterns fighting other Lanterns. That stopped being intriguing to me after Sinestro Corps War. Everything after that was just beating the concept into the ground, in my opinion, and boy did he do that for a long time.

Also, I liked Relic's dream manipulation of Kyle.

Relic could be seen as a "new beginning" for Green Lantern, ushering in the new writers. Exeter could also been seen as being the "old guard". representing Geoff and the past few years of GL.
Originally posted by Cervantas View PostI think that would be stupid. They seem to be hinting that but to have Carol go from a fight with Hal, they haven't officially broken up (again), cause of him having to lead the GLs now to Kyle who has an even greater responsibility of showing the UNIVERSE to the new Guardians and a guy who, lets face it, has a horrible track record with past girlfriends, to my knowledge is still dating Soranik Natu. I think the link or connection, whatever they said, they share is her teaching him to use the Violet light of the spectrum and the only one who isn't either a. A bad guy or b. Busy with something else, like Walker was busy in GL helping stop Larfleeze.
Kyle and Soranik broke up a while ago, when Soranik found out Kyle still truly loves Jenny. They, for all intents and purposes, are done.
Both Kyle and Carol are single, and they even sound good together as a couple, but I don't know if I like the pairing. It would be pretty shitty of both of them to hook up considering Hal and Carols past, and even Hal and Kyles past. If they went that route, it would be short lived, cause a lot of tension, and maybe, maybe bring Hal and Carol back together realizing why they are in love with each other still.
Personally, I'd rather not see them go down this road. I"m enjoying what we're getting so far, and I don't think bring in a love story will help.

I'm really liking where this is headed. Relic is great. I'm kind of indifferent to the Kyle/Carol thing. Venditti needs to turn up the juice on Green Lantern, because the "spin-off" books, GLC and New Guardians are really leaving that title behind.

I dunno I see a more Brother/Sister relationship with Kyle and Carol more than a Kyle/Carol love relationship. But who knows what will happen. I just love the connectivity of the 4 books it's like I'm reading a mega story every month. No Sir, I punched the viceroy in the stomach, then I headbutted him in the face. Sir.-Hal Jordan
