  • Do you want Kyle to be in GL: Lost Army?

I'll take it over nothing... but with little to no faith that Kyle wouldn't just be lost in it if it's some kind of massive ensemble book.

I don't want him, Guy or John to disappear. I hope all three are in this new title.

I'm not a fan of Kyle but he has enough fans to warrant his inclusion. Of course I'm giving many of his fans a free pass despite their wanting all the other Lanterns to stay gone just so Kyle would have no competition -- absolutely the worst behavior I've ever seen from any character's supporters.

I'm in favor of whatever gives him reasonable spotlight, allows him some time on Earth and doesn't backpeddle on his character development.

He's a virtual god. How can they NOT backpeddle on his character development? He almost has to do the tried and true "foggy memory" of his tenures with godlike power (that he has had on four separate occasions now). I say do that, give him back his green ring, and split his time between visiting Earth and whatever his duties are in GL:TLA.

What I mean is, have his time as the White Lantern be a big part of who he is/who he was. You know, don't just forget about it and write him as just another Lantern now, or worse yet, "the sensitive one" (which if it's anyone, is Hal, historically).

I disagree. Forgetting it would be the best thing for the character. I was SO happy when they forgot about that horrible time where Hal was the Spectre. Him not having that as part of him was a huge blessing. Trust me, Kyle will never be the everyman his fans want him to be if they don't.

Hell, look how much John is painted into a corner because they won't stop bringing up the Xanshi thing?

People used to say, "How can Hal ever go back to being a GL when he's been a virtual god as the Spectre?"

Some things you should just know better than to do in the first place. Hal should never have been made the Spectre. Kyle should never have stopped being a GL. It's what he was made to be. Same goes for all 4 of them.

I dunno. I've felt in the past that Guy was actually a poor fit for the Corps. In his early career, post-coma, he was an idiot and jerk, and borderline villain (not really borderline on one occasion), who had no business being in the GLC at all. My favorite period of Guy's career might well have been back when he had Sinestro's ring. He was still a ringslinger, still a hero, but a lone operator not beholden to any organization, yet still, interestingly, tied to the GLC in that he needed them to recharge his ring (though he didn't have to ask, he could just pick fights and recharge off them when they fought back).

Yes, Guy should be a GL. And I'm going to say something sacrilegious here: He's a much more interesting character than Hal. If anyone is still upset to this day about his pre-Gerard Jones past, it's just more evidence that GL should have been rebooted with the rest of the DCU, and that stuff flushed.

Well, pre-Gerard Jones, he was still an interesting character, just not an admirable one. Even under Jones he took a while to evolve into that. And it was a fun ride, IMHO.

I wouldn't mind seeing all 3 in the book, John the architect and directing the corps, Guy as the bruiser that gets shit done [using more unorthodox methods behind John's back], and Kyle being the diplomat working the treaties and PR.

With Guy, all you need to do is use the personality that Gerard Jones established. John and Kyle's personalities need to be worked on.
