She only committed the adultery once. And it was after she'd left him in space after the fear of being pregnant. Again, I do NOT condone what she did. However I can see why it was done. Kyle was so consumed with being a Lantern, saving the universe, being a hero. It was obvious he enjoyed it. Jade, while being a hero in her own right, simply didn't wish to remain away from Earth forever. She'd just formed fledgling relationships with both her father and brother and the pregnancy scare really had her woken up. Would Kyle put her and a potential family first? Or would he always delegate them second? In her mind, based on what she'd seen from Kyle, she felt she and a family would come second and that frightened her.

She should have spoken with Kyle up front about this, but again.. she's human. She was lonely on Earth and just needed companionship. She herself said that she didn't know what was going on with the guy she slept with. That she thought she cared, but she wasn't sure. It was obvious at the time they talked she was torn. She knew she'd hurt him and she was sincerely sorry for it.

When Jennifer dies at the end of Crisis, it's clear where her heart was. I don't believe she'd given him her Starheart powers in order to become Ion once more had she not cared for and loved him dearly. And when he goes to Mogo and has all the apparitians of his dead loves; Alex, Donna, and Jen, Jen tells him not to remember her for the bad things. She tells him and I quote directly from Ion Issue #3... "Kyle I'm sorry for the way things ended between us. But I don't want you to remember me that way. Remember me for this, for how I lived." There's no way she doesn't have remorse for what transpired before her death. And I can see why there will always be love for him... a true love.

As for Soranik? How is what she is doing any better than what Jade or Donna did? She's lying. She's being dishonest? How can she in turn be angry with Kyle for telling her what he knew she wanted to hear when she's keeping such an incredible secret in her own right? If she gets angry and wants to pick a fight with Kyle, I feel it's the pot calling the kettle black. They should both be honest with the other and remain friends, because Kyle does NOT love her. Not the way she wants him to.

A llot of relationships donīt really need real love to get started. And her secret is far darker than Kyleīs.

        Oh I agree with that!

But to me it seems like they're setting Natu up for a fall or maybe a color shift. Yellow would be too obvious, hate to over done... maybe love? You know.... those Star Sapphires, they know how to love and they love.... hard!

Well, in the "To be a Lantern" TPB, while she was on Mogo, she was said that brought "hope". I could see Natu going Blue (but a Star Saphire suit wonīt look bad...).

So far only religious figures have become Blue Lanterns, if she were a nun or priestess or something first maybe.

But it looks to me that Natu is being set up to be a future backstabbing traitor type of character. Kinda like they did with Raven in the early 90's.

She'll be pissed at Sinestro at first, hate him, then she will eventually help him escape or save his life from other GL's "just this once." Then she will start seeing him to get some questions answered, he'll slowly work her over to his side, Kyle will find out, get pissed off at her secret. But still help her keep it a secret because he is into her. Then in the next big event involving Sinestro she will be a big part in helping Sinestro do something to the GLC, she will grudgingly help him out, then there will be a huge Kyle/Natu argument then fight. She will believe that she is betrayed by Kyle and the GL's so she will totally go over to the dark side and join the Sinestro Corps.

And then we will have the villain/ex-girlfriend dynamic for Kyle in the Sinestro Corps. She wants to kill him, and Kyle will just want to "save her." Even though she doesn't want saving.

That really sounds waaay of character for her. I really canīt see Natu becoming a villain and getting a yellow ring. No ofense dude, but that idea sounds like really bad history.

It's out of character for Raven, Hal, Laira, Jason Todd, Mary Marvel, Captain Atom, Hank Hall, Aquaman, Obsidian, Superboy Prime...

or any other hero that just became evil out of nowhere for the plot

Well, Laira wasnīt that bad. The ring took her over. Natu on the other hand..

Besides, Natu doesnīt strike as capable of installing "fear" by any means. If sheīs changes, chances are sheīs gonna either indigo or blue.

See, I just can't see her wanting to be a good guy after this. It's classic in most four color comics, a woman scorned is a female villain waiting to happen unless of course it takes a different road. Blue for hope that Kyle sees her in a way he never will or Indigo for compassion that poor little Rayner is still in love with a dead chick?

Probably. Natu is one those characters that I canīt see going evil, like Optimus Prime for example.

I guess I must be a bad fangirl, because I just don't care about Soranik. I don't care what happens to her, whether she winds up a Blue Lantern, villianess, or whatever. I mean she's a doctor. I suppose that being a Blue Lantern would make some sense. Hope for a better future or hope to have the rift in the universe healed or whatever.

Basically I believe they are setting it up for some kind of color shift for her. I don't see her being a Star Sapphire. Mainly because I like the Sapphires and I'd hate to see her as one of their members. However, it's very clear that every Earth GL has a Sapphire as his nemesis. Hal has Carol and John has Fatality.. Do we have to have the writers pull a 'lame writing' maneuver and make Soranik a Sapphire just cause she's got the hots for Kyle? Bleh.. let's be more creative please?

I just want Jade to come back. And I want her and Kyle to resolve everything and I want them to be a couple again. I've been reading all my older issues where she and Kyle were a couple and I just remember how much fun it was reading the books when they worked together. My favorite story with them was Heart of Darkness... just a real killer story all around. I admit I am totally biased and no character will take the place of Jade. I want her and Kyle to have a comic book happily ever after. -laughs- Which means.... angst ridden, troubled, and stressful... YET happy! Hey Dinah and Oliver have been doing it for years!

Itīs allright. We all have our characters (no ofense but I canīt give a shit about Jade), I really like this pairing. We canīt like the same stuff (tho if you look at my sig, Iīm more of a Iolande fan than Soranik).

I'm not a Jade fan either, and I don't think she's good for Kyle, but I'm not convinced that he and Soranik are good for each other, either. I'm willing to give them a chance, but I suppose I wouldn't mind too much if they broke up. So long as the "breaking up" doesn't involve Soranik dying!

My opinion on the couples is sort of tainted by the fact that I think the whole idea of "one true love" is bullcrap. Maybe Kyle was deeply in love with Jade, and maybe he always will be, but there should be no rule that says he can't love someone else just as much eventually. Maybe that person is Soranik, maybe it isn't, but if Jade stays dead after Blackest Night, then Guy's point still stands -- Jade's dead, Soranik isn't. Plain and simple. Loving a corpse never did anyone any good.

I don't think it's fair to say that Soranik is keeping a secret from Kyle, though. We found out a couple of months ago now, but remember that in comic book time she only just found out, and only just returned from Korugar and ran into Kyle at the beginning of last issue -- then when they did see each other again, the shit immediately hit the fan. When exactly has she had a chance to tell him or anyone (other than Iolande) else anything other than "Hello -- oh crap, watch out for that zombie!!"?

When Jade and Kyle were together it was a ton of fun and a great dynamic.... i just don't see it reigniting. I would personally prefer to see Kyle with Jade than Soranik or Donna... Jade however needs to do a hell of a lot to win him back. as of this moment i can't imagine what would fix the state in which she left poor Kyle's heart.
