...The character doesn't look or act like Jay. He's way too young. And THE FUCKING SUIT! Holy shit, who designed that terrible goddamn costume and WHY did it not die at the editor's desk?!?! The helmet looks ridiculous. In fact, the whole costume looked like some shitty fanfic design...

I think new Jay bothered me more than new Alan. Not only is that suit ridiculous but we're supposed to believe that it comes with the power of a god? If they tried to pass it off that Jay got some egghead with no fashion sense make it, that would've at least made sense, but this is actually supposed to be part of Mercury's power!

Two thoughts on that.

(1) The public has a short-term memory. Even if this series endures, people are not going to be talking about "Gay Lantern" a year from now.

(2) It doesn't matter what DC actually does. It's how it's reported and what people assume. If it was only based on what DC actually did there wouldn't be any association with the GLC, the symbol, Hal or anything but Earth 2.

Well i read issue 2, thought it was pretty decent. Its definitely not bad, average maybe, different yeah, slap in the face to fans of the old versions of the characters? possibly, but its not a bad comic

Just read #1. I don't know what you lot are complaining about, I realy enjoyed the issue. Ok so Alan and Jay may be completely different from their pre 52 counterparts, but I still enjoyed it. I would recomend actully reading this before judging.
