Because he wasn't there. To her, Kyle was gone for a year or so (later retconned into something like a weekend, though), and she considered their relationship to be over.

If you're going to go that far, I'd say retcon their entire relationship away. The whole thing was a waste of page space.

In any event, it'd be a stupid retcon. Might as well live with the bad writing we were dealt and move on.

Really it isnt that stupid of a thing to want to retcon away, it totally went against JADES character at least from what i saw of her. There have been dumber things that have been changed(lanterns not being able to leave their sector or work with other lanterns) and it could be blamed on someone messing with her mind. Yes my punctuation and sentence structure is pathetic .....

Yeah, the most annoying criticism on Jade having an affair was that it wasn't in her character to have an affair. Many people would under certain circumstances, it's a very human (and still wrong/dumb) mistake.

Now, the way it was rushed and the lack of conflict she showed over it is another story.

Why should it? How many other comic stories do you lot want rendered invalid/obsolete? It's hard enough trying to work out what IS canon nowadays without asking for more shit to be wiped. People fuck up, and make mistakes. I've known people do things I considered "out of character", doesn't mean they didn't do them. It happened, move on.

I don't see why it's such a big deal though.

I think Jade was acting the way A soldier's girl might.

She was scared he may never come home (He was in space)

So she sought male comfort. It's not right, but it's a human reaction.

We can't forget one very important thing though.

Jade is a fictional character and will act the way the writer's wants her to.

Oh and she should have stayed dead.
