  • Finished my Vol. 3 run

I was missing about ten issues, but I have them in TPB form. (Used to have the single issues, but foolishly sold them about fifteen years ago.) But today, after triumphantly scoring a copy of Green Lantern (Vol. 3) #71, my run is now complete. #0-181, in all its wonderful glory!

Just wanted to share. You guys are the only ones who appreciate such tales of collecting.

Now I just need to pawn off my New Dawn and Baptism of Fire TPBs...

Awesome! t's a great feeling when you finish a run. Did you remember to get #1,000,000 and annuals too?

Of course. I had been collecting straight through, and only sold a few small runs ("Emerald Twilight," "Siege of the Zi Charam," and "Hero Quest") because they were worth good money at the time. "Emerald Twilight" in particular netted me a very nice sum, and I bought a TPB collection of it so I wouldn't be missing the story (it's still one of my favorites).

        Congrats!

I remember catching up pretty much right before it ended.

Working on v.2 now. I'm try to finish off large chunks (e.g, I have 100 and over and am trying to finish 75 and over etc.).

I was buying it right along so I had volume 3 under control. I walked away from it for almost a year around the time of Hal's funeral and came back for the Hal story leading up to #100. I just picked up the stuff I had missed during that time.

Nearly the same. I had been following it then in college (sometime later in Kyle's story) funds were tight and I basically fell out of comics. I eventually got those missing issues, but it took a lot of searching and a lot more money in the long run. Which is why I will never miss another GL title again, even if I'm not that excited about it.

My v2 single issue collection starts with 89. I've got the Showcases before that; too rich for my blood otherwise.

I've got everything from Showcase #1 to today. Every mini, oneshot, trade and hardcover. Reprints too. Five longboxes altogether.

It's expensive and a pain in the ass to stay onop of everythng these days, with GL actually being popular and every issue having 3 covers.

Since my goal of having every issue of GL vol 1, Comics Cavalcade, All-Star Comics, All-American Comics, and The Big All-American Comic Book is unlikely to be completed...

I've moved to the hobby of collecting original artwork of interior pages of GL books.

I don't collect variants or reprints; one copy of the story is good enough for me, since the story is really all that matters.

That's even more expensive! Though I do own two GL pages, m'self...

I had to give up on the variants. There were too many. I am getting them right now, however, since it was only supposed to be issues 1-4.

I have the same goal as Dave, but only as a dream where I'm wealthy.
I believe the goal of finishing v.2 is reasonable. I'm willing to get lesser/reader copies to fill the spots since I can read the trades.

                        Viagra Super Active

I just turned 53 young, not so old, huh, and have been suffering from erectile dysfunction for more than 8 years. Different techniques and medications did not help me or were useful just for a while and then the problem returned. Only with Viagra Super Active I could obtain a perfect intercourse and reliable effect. I was enough hard and it lasted for long to never complain about. Libido and intensive climaxes were much better with viagra jelly than any other medicine

SD80MAC, you do not have a full Vol. 3

                          you are missing, 80 page giant 1 - 3, issue 1,000,000 and Annual's 1 - 9

                          keep at it

Congratulations! Volume 3 is a tough one to put together (for some issues). I find #119 the most elusive locally. Hope to find it at the Emerald City Con in a few weeks.

Those seeking to do as our buddy SD80MAC has, don't forget the supporting issues (JLA, JLE, JLI) and the single issue of Green Arrow that continued the Emerald Knights saga. Then there are all the cross-overs in Flash, the Reign of the Supermen and Funeral for a Friend sagas, and depending on whether you count the Action stories in Volume 2 or Volume 3 you have those to pick up as well...do you get the feeling, as I do, that it never ends?

Had most of Vol 2, once, along with a complete run of JLAs Vol 1 1-250, xf to mint condition...the nineties were not good to us...sold...sigh...hope somebody out there is enjoying them...ditto what that guy above said on the Showcases.

The power of will is found at the deepest level of your being. It's more than mere rules. It's a duty that you must honor.

I've already got all of that stuff, plus all of the other one-shots and crossovers. I was just referring to the main numbered run.
