I'm still relatively new to the GL universe, what miniseries were ran along side the main GL story, also were there any major cross overs that I would need to read the other issues to fully understand the story?

To understand vol3? just read the vol3 issues.
If I remeber correctly it's good in explaining the few tie ins it has
-
couple of tieins for Vol 3
Three of a Kind - Flash/GL/GA
Way of the Warrior, this thing jumped all over the place
But you can understand the series with out any of that, the one Mini I would suggest is Circle of Fire, but it is confusing to figure out its like this
Circle of Fire 1
GL & The Atom 1
GL& Firestorm 1
GL&GL 1
GL& Power Girl 1
GL& somebody 1
GL& somebidy 1
Circle of Fire 2

Actually there is only 2 issues that have anything to do with The Return of superman that I am aware of and that's Vol 3 #46 and 47 I think from 48 on your dealing directly with Hal's fall and Kyle's Rise.

There's the trinity crossover with L.I.G.O.N. and Darkstars. I set a new status quo for all the universe's peacekeeping agencies. Which lasted .... what? Three issues? lol. At east it had the Maltusian gods. There were two issues of Trinity and a couple issues from each series.
You might also want to check out "The New Corps". It's not a mini, but it does follow from the main series. It's about Kyle trying (and failing) to restart the Corps.
And then there's GL / Sentinel: Heart of Darkness. Those deal with Alan's story and are nessasary to read before the issue where he becomes an old man again.
The Final Night Parallax one shot and the last issue (at least) of Final Night are also a must for Hal fans.
The one shot of Speed Demon, Dr Strangefate, Challengers of the Fantastic, and Iron Lantern from the Amalgam crossover feature some cool GL stuff too. Although most of those are quite limited in their GL content.Last edited by Gauntlet101010; 02-07-2009, 05:27 PM.

Yo.
I also recommend Circle of Fire as GLJMT mentioned (which U can get in tpb-form @ yur LCS), but I would follow that up with the Power of Ion -tpb, as well as tossing in Baptism of Fire & Emerald Knights.
to see how things were pre-Kyle, Id say The Road Back is a decent start (based on wat's available from vol. 3).

Thanks for the replies I'll look into those.
I looked at my original post and realized I worded it wrong.
I should have said...
"I recently bought the full run of the 1990's GL series and I was wondering what other tie-in issues I should considered getting to follow the story."
Storylines I'm looking to include are...
Zero Hour
Final Night
Judgment Day
is there anything else I may be missing?Last edited by M2Dane; 02-18-2009, 12:49 AM.
