As it really should be IMHO. I'm a big fan of hero / villain rivalries where only one person can truly beat up the bad guy.

Every GL has had a turn at beating Sinestro. Either with help or on their own. Including Guy and Jhon.

It does bug me that the cover showed this big match up between Kyle and Sin which never materialized. It wasn't even that important to the story.

Was Sinestro having Kyle's mom murdered even brought up at all?

Nope not one word, Kyle said he only punched him to get his attention, then Sinestro said they should fight without rings so they dont break the truce

Good point. I don't think I could be even that civil to Sin after that.

Of course they act like Soranik told Kyle about her father behind the scenes, so maybe Kyle got over his mom's death behind the scenes as well.

Bedard continues to prove why I love his writing so much. I've never been a huge Kyle fan, but always thought he was ok. Ever since Bedard took over, Kyle's stock has been rising. Sure, he got his ass kicked by Sinestro. But ya know what, he manned up and did what he needed to. The Weaponer story was really well laid out, and enjoyed learning more of his history.

GLC just keeps getting better and better for me.

Wow, so the mom murdering not even given a nod? That's... mind-blowing, even.

eh, not really. The whole face-off is more of a "fine, let's fight so I can get you to come with me" kind of thing. Kyle has more on his mind than the past.

                    But... that was his mom.

                      It deserved a mention.

A few flaws in an otherwise good issue, if you ask me.

I'm pretty outraged by this... I mean, yeah sure Kyle you're banging his daughter, but the dude killed your mother! Not because he considered you his arch-nemesis... NO! Only because he wanted to throw you off your game. He killed your mom to only make you stumble a bit so he can rip out your proverbial still beating heart, and then make you one of the most fearsome creatures of the universe... and murder Jack T. Chance.

So what happens when you are forced to confront him? You bitch about him being an unbelievable ass and leave! Secondly, one I never knew about no Korugarian grandmasters and second after saying the statement "BATMAN" after who taught you how to fight and getting a wicked splash page to go with it, you shouldn't have lost. Not only that but Donna Troy taught you as well and that's Amazon territory we're crossing buddy, how dare you be taken out, just so that Sinestro can have a notch.

                          You are craycray.

Let's hope the mom thing is mentioned in the future. I was already aghast at it being ignored in the previous issue, not even a thought box. People don't understand, he doesn't even need to bring it up - there's no need to derail from the plot with Soranik and have him all of a sudden remember all of Sinestro's other sins against him, but there was time to get a thought in already, a resentful and hateful thought or something. There's no need to make excuses -- it might get mentioned later, because Sinestro is getting involved later according to solicits, and that will be a chance for this awkward scene to redeem itself.

I'm not surprised that he shouted Batman instead of Donna Troy. It sounds more recognizable and has more impact and Donna is slowly getting retconned out of Kyle's life anyway.

The only thing I loved about this issue was the Weaponer. He more than made up for it and I hope he stays in the rogue gallery for a long time to come.

Natu mentioned she was a doctor yet again and came off as really impulsive and strange here. But she had a nice ass shot at least?

But seriously, I LOOOOOVE love love the Weaponer.

It ought to have been at least part of the reason he wants Sinestro's attention. Regardless if his girlfriend, Natu, was being held hostage he ought to have been reluctant to plead with his mother's murder to get assistance.

You don't think the powers-that-be would've let Kyle win, do you? Yeah, he should have, but that's just not going to happen with the current DC leadership. Ever.

As for him not losing his shit and attacking Sinestro for killing his mom, I'd like to think that Kyle's the better man for it instead of falling into a lowly revenge trap.

Pretty damn good issue. I love Kyle and even I was happy to see Sinestro lay his ass out. Fav line of the book:

I LOVE conspiracy theorists. They are like human versions of the cymbal clapping, dancing monkeys. No one takes them all that seriously and they get bored with them after about 10 minutes.
