As for him not losing his shit and attacking Sinestro for killing his mom, I'd like to think that Kyle's the better man for it instead of falling into a lowly revenge trap.
And not to mention it would derail from the plot at hand. I think this might potentially setup a more in-depth face off between the two like missferris said. It's silly to go apeshit at this point for Bedard not mentioning it. Now, if Sinestro and Kyle meet in the future and there's no other pressing matters at hand then I think we can bitch and moan at Bedard leaving it out.

    Patience my fellow fans....patience.

But seriously, I LOOOOOVE love love the Weaponer.
I whole heartedly agree. And it's why I'm glad Bedard is getting to do his own thing and not being tied down by the other GL books. When you're able to write self contained stories, and provide more individualistic plots, I think things like The Weaponer are easier to bring to the forefront.

Not to mention he is trying to save his girlfirend. Do you really want them to stop in the middle of that to discuss and fight about that while Soranik could die at any moment?
I LOVE conspiracy theorists. They are like human versions of the cymbal clapping, dancing monkeys. No one takes them all that seriously and they get bored with them after about 10 minutes.

        Couple of things:

When he asked him who taught him to fight, I was waiting for the big panel of Kyle clocking Sinestro with him saying "Donna Troy!" I guess Batman sounds more impressive even if that wasn't how it happened.

I thought the story was pretty good for the most part, but the art almost killed it for me. I kept picturing throught the issue how much better it would have been with Gleason drawing it.

Sinestro whipping Kyle man to man? That was actually the only way I thought Kyle had a chance. With rings, I can't imagine Sinestro losing. The way he's been built up he basically NEEDS to not lose or he'll lose some of the mystique DC has given him in the last 5 years. Of course, if this was 20 years ago I could see even Ch'p kicking his ass but these are different times. I honestly don't think I want to see even Hal beat him anymore. I like Sinestro on the pedestal he's on currently, so no snub to Rayner's character as far as I'm concerned.

btw, would it have killed them to give John even ONE line of dialogue?

Only because he wanted to throw you off your game. He killed your mom to only make you stumble a bit so he can rip out your proverbial still beating heart, and then make you one of the most fearsome creatures of the universe... and murder Jack T. Chance.

So what happens when you are forced to confront him? You bitch about him being an unbelievable ass and leave! Secondly, one I never knew about no Korugarian grandmasters and second after saying the statement "BATMAN" after who taught you how to fight and getting a wicked splash page to go with it, you shouldn't have lost. Not only that but Donna Troy taught you as well and that's Amazon territory we're crossing buddy, how dare you be taken out, just so that Sinestro can have a notch.
As someone else already stated only Hal is supposed to be Sinestro's equal. And with the movie coming out next Summer I expect Hal and Sinestro to be even bigger Mary-Sues than they already are. It will start in Jan with Guy getting thrashed by Hal [because no in Hell will Johns make Guy Hal's equal and come out on top of this fight]

Second issue in a row where Kyle is on the ground with his hands raised asking someone not to hit him.

Not quite. He wiped blood off of his face, and he simply told Sinestro "you win," and told him to listen. He never had his hands raised or begged the villain not to hit him.

What are the odds that the conclusion of this arc will be the GLs taking a beating from the Weaponer only for Sinestro to show up at the last minute and trash the Weaponer without breaking a sweat? The sad part is the writers are probably running around acting like we won't see that coming.

                              OMG you spoiled it!

Yeah, we all see that coming. Hopefully there will be some other plot stuff thrown in to make it interesting. I wish Bedard had a little more leeway to "cut loose," as it were, but that's not possible in the Johnsverse.

I really don't see anything interesting coming out of the woodworks for the next year until GL is on the DVD shelves. The Johns and Didio mandate of nobody but Hal [and Sinestro] saving the day will be in full effect.
