Written by TONY BEDARD; Art and cover by TYLER KIRKHAM & BATT; 1:10 Variant cover by PATRICK GLEASON

The new ongoing art team of rising star Tyler Kirkham and dynamic inker Batt kicks this BRIGHTEST DAY tie-in into high gear as Kyle Rayner attempts to recruit Sinestro in a mission to save his daughter Soranik Natu! But the leader of the Yellow Lanterns is more concerned with exterminating the "alley rat" Emerald Warrior, and the pair face off in hand-to-hand combat!

Looking forward to it as well. Really nervous of how this one will go (particularly the Sinestro-Kyle stuff)... it could either really be the slam dunk to me with Bedard on GLC, or it could be the thing that lets all of the air out of it for me.

I liked it. Sinestro was true to form.
The Weaponer reminds me of Mickey Rourke in Iron Man 2, but with a cool da Vinci-esque pad.

Meh, wasn't jazzed about this one. The fight between Sinestro and Kyle was whack. I mean, I'm fullly thrilled that Sinestro put him in his place, but it was like "Dood, ur daughter is in trouble. Come with me or I punch you! I punched you! Wow, I just got my ass kicked, and your still not coming......ok, I give up." Something was missing out of that. Nice artwork, though. And I did feel empathy for the Weaponer. Good flashback to Arkillo. I guess I really wanted Sinestro to do something instead of the space cops who always come to the rescue.

Back story on the Weaponer: Check
                  New info on Anti-Monitor: Check
                  Kyle getting punked: BS!
Hannu reaffirmed as a legit badass: Check

over all? Great issue. Save for the Kyle being punked part. The "I was taught by Batman" line was good, though.

Oh, and art is WORLDS better than Gleason

The art made the issue for me
The background during the fight reminded me of a video game
We pretty much got back story which I can't complain too much about cause it's new info to me
Kyle got put in his place ++

now i wanna read this issue even more ... i'm tempted to stop subscribing to comics and find an alternative solution ... i hate getting the issues nearly a month after every one has already seen them ... we have no local LCS, so subscribing seemed like a no-brainer for me at the time ... damn ...

did kyle hold his own in the fight for at least a punch or two ???
was it a "one punch" pawning by sinestro ???

Sad that Sinestro beat Kyle up. But, really, what's a hero with a lame villain? Sinestro can't be beaten up easily anymore or he'd just suck.

It woulda been better if he said he was trained by Donna, though. Because that actually ... happened. I don't recall any issues where Bats trained Kyle ... and i DO remember one where he ditched Kyle when he asked for advice. Good times, gooooooood times.

That white net still being around also buggs me, but I like that the Qwardians are being amped up again. Hopefully, the Weaponer will stay among the GL rogues. Despite them being GL's oldest enemies there really aren't any truly memorable Qwardians. None seem to last. Even in the "Syndicate Rules" story, the Qwardians seem to have been forgotten shortly after that. I really like how Soranik sees something almost noble about the Weaponer .... and gets set straight. Nope, he's not a good guy by any means.

Plus the use of a castle as his base reminds me of the time Hal and Ollie went to Qward and discovered it has an astonishingly medieval type of society, with peasants and bards. Probably total coincidence, but still.

Kyle landed a few, but Thaal was clearly suppose to get the upper hand. It was evident the only GL that can rival Sinestro is Jordan.
