My impression has been that aside from the Star Sapphires', the symbols are stylized drawings of power batteries from different angles. GL is full-on front. Blue is from the side (maybe top-down with the handle in view), Yellow is top-down and Red is about 45 degrees inclined front. Indigo and orange will probably follow this pattern. However, the Controllers, like the Zamarons, are an off-shoot of the Guardians and so the OL symbol may be dredged up from previous Controllers history. It is reminiscent of the Dark Star symbol on Ferrin Colos as seen on the Darkstars issue 1 cover.

I'm imagining an "A-Team" type of montage as Atrocitus cobbles together his lantern...

With the demons of Ysmault being well....demons, Atrocitus could have just conjured up a red lantern from hell or some otherworldly infernal realm. Trigon could be his Guardian or something..

Yellow Lantern symbol is based on Parallax
Purple Lantern symbol is based on Star Sapphire
Black Lantern symbol is based on Black Hand
the Red Lantern symbol looks to me like Dr Polaris' old helmet...
(if we take it further, I'd wonder if the orange had something to do with Hector Hammond)Last edited by Kane2814; 03-17-2008, 03:37 PM.

Again, I don't imagine the imprisoned members on Ysmault created that first Lantern themselves. And surely there must be a Central Battery somewhere, perhaps not even on Ysmault at all?
