Given his experiance of being the Specter you would think Hal would be a beliver in something even if it isn't a convention human religion. I mean he was the hand of God's (for lack of a better term) Vengance.

With any luck he's an athiest. Thankfully it has never been addressed and hopefully it never will be. God has no place in comics. He gets enough press with the Bible and all that crap.
Remeber Hal has been to christian purgatory, as Parallax broke into heaven to talk to Ollie before he went to re-ignite the sun, and was the embodiment of God's Wrath as The Spectre. Now, granted, we're seen "dimentions' and beings that represent the planes of existance, gods, angels, devils and whatnot for every religion in the DCU... which is why Mr. Terrific's explaination as to why he's an athiest amuses me.
"But you've met angels and been to hell!"
"I've met winged beings from another dimention and been to an entirely different dimention that had a lot of fire, yes. Doesn't mean those were God's messangers or that we were in hell."
Mr. Terrific is a skeptic as well as an athiest, I like the guy.
But getting back to Hal, I'd say that by and large the evidence points to him as a non-practicing christian. Its probably just one of the many things he rejected from his mother's upbringing after his father died.
I always thought he was non-practicing Christian. He seems to have faith, being the Specter for a time being, and the fact that even if you look at his character he never gives up. No matter what. IMO, That is a man who has faith in something.
Do I hear Heaven's Gate, anyone? Come on, who cares about religion? As long as these people are kick-ass superheroes, who cares if their Jewish, Christian, Islamic, Buddhist, Confusian, or Hindu?
ok there also is a holiday issue with both the flash and gl and I think it states the flash as being jewish and gl as a christian... I have to find this issue

Of course, none of it matters to the Corporate Gods that you worship right?
