What is up with that art? Is this a flashback, or did Hal get de-aged again? He looks like he's in High School.

Yes, the artwork is bad in that preview. Bad art can just make a book really hard to deal with. That's how I feel about Red Hulk book as of late.
"My mind is deluged with thoughts of Heaven and Hell,
Crime and Punishment, Damnation and Redemption. Hal
        Jordan... And The Spectre.

I'm dead, yet I live. I have no identity. Yet I know
who I am. And once again I've been given power enough
to change the world. This time, Lord...
        Let me be worthy."

I'm not one to be too bothered by art, usually. I know there have been many times people here have complained about art and I've said to myself, "What? That doesn't seem too bad."

But this is just bizarre. It isn't even that the art is bad per se, but that it looks nothing like Hal should look. It would be decent art, IMHO, if they were TRYING to draw a High School student.

The art doesn't bother me because I can make heads and tails of it. At least it's not sloppy like Gleason's pencils.

I'm more worried about the content. How long are they going to have Sinestro play hide and seek with Hal and the ring? Jeez. This is like an ongoing episode of Burn Notice. "Just do this last job for me and I'll give you what you want."

The art looks wonderful! I love it! Please replace Mahnke with this guy. Hal looks young, cocky and confident as he should. You know he did get de-aged a bit with the new 52 and Doug made him look older.

Love the preview and can't wait for the issue.

Totally not going to miss butt chin Hal with Doug Mahnke.

Though with all these comments about it, it's understandable why I basically have quit this board.

I disagree. Hal looks bad in this preview. I mean he may have been deaged but I doubt he's 17 now which he looks. He looks the same age as Ronnie in Firestorm!

I know people who still look really young in their 30's and 40's so Hal looks fine. Better than fine he looks great. I have a friend in her 30's who looks 17.

Wow, I must admit that it doesn't look like a DC comic at all, but I actually find it rather appealing.

Also that writing is off the wall, particulary in the first page. It seems kinda childish, I mean Hal-l-l-l. Really Johns, really!

Did y'all read the credits on the last page of the preview? Guest artist.

Adult aside: This has real possibilities for mature audiences. Also solves Hal's homelessness problem. Ah, romance, and shacked up again! And I'll bet you my brass farthing that the poor dumb bastard gets himself busted again for the fistfight, and this time Carol doesn't bail his poor sorry ass out...

The last two "L"s in each dialog bubble are musical notes. Haven't you ever been in love? "Now your fingers touched my silent heart, and taught me how to sing...because love is a many splendored thing..."

And as for the Boeing B-59? No such. Design study only. Never built on Earth-Prime. Maybe it was built on their Earth. Wonder if it looks anything like this one?
