I agree. We know War of the Green Lanterns happened to some extent (it was necessary background to the main volume and RL) which heavily involved the entities. My opinion is those are still on the table until we read something like Hal has always been good and has never died.

People who doubt Hal was Parallax are overthinking things. It's not like it was mentioned all the time in Vol 4 anyway. Why would they mention it out of the blue?
Reprinting old comics would be a foolhardy effort because not everything in those comics are valid anymore. Case in point, ET. ET makes no mention of space paracites and it probably mentioned Reign of the Supermen at the beginning, so to work it'd really need to be rewritten. Kyle's best stories involve Jade, Major Force, and Alan Scott and you'd need to rewrite or redraw a lot of them just to make them fit.
Blackest Night is another example. Clearly it happened, but it couldn't have happed as it was. None of the main heroes have died, Martian Manhunter never knew Hal ... not even the GL issues are the same. You can't really reprint any of it as part of the New 52.
As annoyed as we may be as fans, I think it may be even worse if they try to answer these questions. Because they'll just contradict themselves later.

And, let's be honest, that's just not important anymore. Moving forward instead of fixating on the past is what really needs to be done.

That would be nice, but I'm not expecting it. I think they want to keep the past fluid so they can decide later what is and is not in continuity any more. That could be why Johns hasn't pinned down if Hal was Parallaxed or what exactly happened for Kyle to get his ring; he doesn't have to commit to one story.Originally posted by greenblogger View PostI wish DC would release Original Graphic Novels that would feature key stories in the Green Lantern Corps history that would fit in The New 52 timeline. Simon Baz is now the new Green Lantern, but I'm still more of a Hal Jordan fan. I would really like to see Hal get the lead back in this title not in the same way issues 1-12 happened when he shares the spotlight with Sinestro. I still believe Sinestro should be back in a yellow suit.
But I will still would like to see how Simon Baz will make it to become a Green Lantern on his own. It is exciting when new characters gets introduced.

Yes he did and Flash is his favorite character. I hope they put someone who can craft better stories and use the characters to the fullest like the Animated Series can.Originally posted by SD80MAC View PostHe did it with the Flash. So there's some precedent, at least.

I'm still interested in Simon, he is an interesting character and his family problems and life problems still intrigue me. I'm still on board, but yeah, what will Hal and Sinestro being doing in the mean time while the Third Army is hunting everyone down?

Naming another writer to write Hal is never be a problem, but another writer to write post-rebirth Sinestro... I have no idea. Post-rebirth Sinestro basically is Johns' character and there were very few times that Johns let other writers to use him. I will be really interested if one day Johns really let his favorite go to another writer's hand.

I'm not opposed to reading about Simon at all, just don't introduce him at the expense of another character a lot of people (not all) have cared about for decades.
I don't understand why they didn't just make Simon have his own book with Green Lantern in the title, or give Hal and Sinestro to another writer because they will sell without Geoff Johns.

Right. But the burden of proof lies on evidence, not lack thereof.Originally posted by Gauntlet101010 View PostWhile there's no proof that Hal became Parallax in the new 52, there's no proof he didn't either.
I think it was just the different emotions, in GLNG #0. I could be wrong, though.Originally posted by Trigger View Posthmmm I feel like the entities were mentioned in new guardians.

WotGL was pre-New 52. So that doesn't count. And since the CPB was never destroyed, how would Hal have freed Parallax in the first place?Originally posted by Ion2814 View PostDidn't Krona show Hal in WotGL that the Guardians were planning on taking Hal out again, since he survived Parallax? It was the along the same sequence of showing Ganthet and the other Guardians freeing the First Lantern for the Third Army. So it's been confirmed he was Parallax, just probably didn't die in the Sun/reborn as Spectre/etc, but was still freed due to Ganthet/Kyle/JLA figuring out the whole fear entity vs crazy Hal.
Blackest Night was radically altered, due to many of the main characters no longer existing (or having died) in the New 52. There's no evidence Final Night happened, and I doubt Hal's died, because he was never the Spectre.Originally posted by Guyver Lantern View PostI'm confused, too. Since reboot we haven't seen any character blame Hal for Parallax again. And he also hasn't shown regret for that again. When Guardians mentions him, they just say he is a threat not a former renegade. However I don't think Johns will erase the whole Parallax thing, since it's almost all his run in v4 about. And it's confirmed that Blackest Night still happened, Hal must had died once, the restoring Sun thing still exists.
