GJ prob got tired of GL fans complaining about continuity

But lately all the complaints seem to be how he has lately become quite fond of retconning his own retcons/flying in the face of his own rules. I don't see how making a new universe for him would change this.

I wrote to ask DC about how the announcements will be made and I got this in reply from Jim Lee: "The battle plan is to roll out the news in a deliberate way rather than splashing all 52 creative teams and news out there at once. Let them digest the first hit then we have announcements almost every day. Hang tight buddy. We will be calling you soon." So expect a BIG WEEK!

In September, Bleeding Cool has been told to expect a new Green Lantern team book, made up of one member from each of the differing Lantern emotional colour spectrum. Green, Yellow, Red, Blue, Indigo, Violet, Orange…. and Black?

Care Bear Stares each and every month! And some kind of Tyler Kirkham involvement.

Ok so over the coming weeks were going to be getting Art teasers, New Creative teams revealed, and a complete listing of the 52 books being launched as #1's.

I wonder how Batwoman, The Red Lanterns, and other books that have been announced that haven't come out yet will be effected by this total reboot.

WOW. This is big.

Redesigning over 50 characters costumes? This is actually something I've been saying for the last few years they need to do. They SHOULD have done this way back when they did Infinite Crisis in 2006.

This is either GENIUS or MADNESS. Either way, I'm pumped!

I wonder if Red Lanterns will still come out, or if the multi colored lantern team book is what that turned into instead. Maybe they didn't like the feedback they got after announcing the Red lantern title.

don't like that promo pic, everyone with that silly collar... it looks TERRIBLE on Superman and why does Wonder Woman have a neckbrace?

I'm hype for a Aquaman #1, since he didn't have much going on anyways - so they can change whatever they want, I don't care.

But for books I'm invested in like Red Robin and Green Lantern - I'm a little worried... what's going to happen to them?

just had another thought. what about the loose end plots such as firestorm about self destruct in 90 days, swamp thing being earths protector, batman inc., booster and batman going after maxwell lord with the JLI. i wonder how this will fit into this reboot.

Maybe. I can't imagine the feedback on a Rainbow Lantern Team book would be much better. In the absence of a universe-threatening event, I can think of no good reason why all the various Corps would agree to work together. And a non-stop stream of universe-threatening events would make the title tiresome quickly (I know I'm getting a bit tired of it in GL, and I have a long history with that title, enhancing my perseverance).

An ANTHOLOGY book dealing with all the various Corps would make more sense to me, but there are certainly those who wouldn't want THAT, either.

They gave it to Welling (kind of) in Smallville so I'm not that surprised. Although the high collar makes me wish it was more like the Returns costume.

I just hope they don't try to have their cake and eat it too. The cognitive dissonance will be too great for me if they essentially reboot everything, even to the extent of making some characters younger, tweaking origins, and having this be earlier in people's careers, yet STILL try to continue selected ongoing storylines that have their roots before this change.

For instance, if the JLI title is still a go, and treats things like they pick up after the end of Generation Lost, even though the entire universe has obviously changed between then and now. That will be jarring.
