Well this is fucking stupid. I'm reading all these titles and now they're going to be rebooting. This seems like a desperate attempt on there part.

I just hope they don't try to have their cake and eat it too. The cognitive dissonance will be too great for me if they essentially reboot everything, even to the extent of making some characters younger, tweaking origins, and having this be earlier in people's careers, yet STILL try to continue selected ongoing storylines that have their roots before this change.

For instance, if the JLI title is still a go, and treats things like they pick up after the end of Generation Lost, even though the entire universe has obviously changed between then and now. That will be jarring.

A New Multi-Colour Lantern Team Book

Seriously how is this even possible? That concept was introduced until recently. Then again I wouldn't be surprised if Geoff Johns retcons that all of the colors were already excisting back when Hal was a rookie GL(something tells me that he's already done it).

Oh wait, there wasn't one. Many titles continued on exactly the same. Green Lantern certainly did.

This sure SOUNDS like a more comprehensive reboot, such that even the characters that don't have much change to their CHARACTER or ORIGIN, will still be starting with a fairly fresh slate.

Only thing I'm worried about is that they'll go back on the character development we've gotten for both Sinestro and Hal recently. Which is probably silly, but I don't know. I guess we'll just have to wait.

At this point, they better. After all the emphasis they are putting on how this is for real, and there is NO PLAN AT ALL to go back on this, they will look like utter fools if they go back to the old numbering in a few months.

While they didn't start every single book with a new #1, there was a line wide reboot that threw out everything that came before.

This is basically the same thing anyways, and I was right in that people would lose their shit over something as "paying respect to continiuity"

When DC did COIE most titles went back to number 1 or rebooted. Batman was one of the titles that continued with it's numbering. So it would seem odd that they would suddenly reboot Batman back to the first issue, especially after almost more than 70-years. (But then again anything is possible).

Well, I'm inclined to agree on that, even if they fuck everything over. They're making a gamble here, and they need to deal with the consequences either way, not just go back, you know?

i just dont understand this at all! what was the point of stories like "brightest day" and "war of the green lanterns" where the effects will shape the future of everything from that point on?? its like we're reading these stories for nothing now. with this reboot im sure stories like "Reign of Superman", "Sinestro Corp War", "Knightfall" etc never existed! Go figure, i cant remember the last time i've been this disappointed in DC

That's the way it's been in DC: Crisis event, return to status quo; Crisis return to status quo, etc.

This to me feel really close to what Marvel said about their Ultimate universe.

I'd say it sounds exactly like the Marvel Ultimate Universe.
