OH. MY. GOD. I don't even know what to think of this. I feel like I have two options when this happens: Either I get used to it and learn to love it, or I completely abandon DC comics once and for all.

History is with the characters as well as the material books. It's the same with rebooting a movie franchise without any regard to the story that preceded it.

I'm kinda split on how i feel.

I like the idea of a new jumping on point and updating some of the history is ok especially with the JSA, the way they did it on smallville was inventive and original. by rebooting the entire thing at the same time Dc can avoid such major continuity mistakes such as post COIE hawkman and maybe they can fix the whole green arrow situation

on the other hand this reboot on the surface seems to be the equivalent of One More Day/Brand New Day just on a larger scale, the current people in charge don't like the way previous writers have shaped what exists. So rather than come up with an interesting and creative way to change things they just reboot everything. Things like Flash rebirth, War of the green lantern, Legacy characters(Tim drake, jaime reyes, damian wayne, bart allen", everything post infinite crisis will be swept away as nothing more than a stain on GJ and DD memory.

Characters like Wally West and Dick Grayson will be set back years in terms of characterization that they had achieved by becoming heroes in their own rights right and then replacing then being able to be standing side by side equal with their mentors.

Now I know GJ loves Hal but i didn't know he loved him so much he wants to be like him and become Parallax, rebooting the DCU.

i will probably stop reading for a few years. maybe pick up the annual Crisis on New New Earth team up special with the New New Earth JLA and the New Earth JLA. i will definitely come back when they print Ultimate Crisis where everything is rebooted again to the pre-Geoffallax DCU and just to make them happy we can get another brand new set of Issue 1's

DC is not a company that does not sticks to it's guns. Just look at how many heroes they created and quickly killed off to replace with older heroes. They used to stick to their guns very well, but not anymore. Yeah, I'm thinking of Blackest Night here.

The more I think on this the more it seems like a lot about nothing. Well ... if you're a GL fan anyway. It seems to me that RL Corps is going to be one of these new #1s and that means that the continuity shakeup isn't going to be too bad for GL fans. And ... new origins? How much continuity changed in GL just in Volume 4? Maybe the GLC is going to have a fasion makeover, but other than that, it doesn't seem like things will change so much.

Really, how long have they been playing fast and loose with their continuity? This just seems like more of the same. Only it makes me less interested in other DC titles. Mainly becaus ei dislike the gimmick.

The bright spot is JSA is changing .... maybe the horrible Alan being paralysed subplot is going to go away. I liek the current stuff, but there's always a silver lining.

my concern for gl is igncomics.com reported that gl issue 1 will have some form of bn elements still intact. so im wondering if this will be some twist of events or if this will be the ultimate revamp for gl.

i just got into gl 2 years ago and i admit im still new to comics but i personally hate the thought of reading one continutiy and all of a sudden its gona be erased and something new is gona happen.

i mean hey im glad johns is still on the gl book but id love for more details regarding what will be the focus point of the charachter

Of course BN elements are going to be around. They're still around now. The Colored Corps, the Book of the Black ... John just channeled BL energy. As a GL fan I'm not going to let myself be concerned about this.

i only buy gl when it comes to dc. i recentley just started reading captain america from marvel.

just like my food im pickey the same way when it comes to comics
