The Flash #10 was not good. There were some really great looking moments thanks to Marcus To (and Brian's colors!) but for the most part, this was a terribly boring book. The first few pages alone wanted me to throw it in the trash. Did you seriously just throw away last month's cliffhanger into a thought box and call it a day? To focus on what exactly? A super rushed attempt at character development? That's not development for Weather Wizard, that's just added history. Great, now we KNOW what his past is like but all we've seen was a bunch of grass. They didn't even add coca plants to the background to make it look like an actual drug farm land. Am I really supposed to be excited for Weather Wizard's next appearance now? They even tossed in an interesting element to his powers and seemingly forgot to use it for the rest of the issue. Was it anger that powered his lightning or was it anger that powered his rainfall? It was just a big huge mess. And I am shocked SHOCKED they are still driving this Barry cares for Patty nonsense when we're ten issues in and we barely care for Barry! Develop your star before you try and convey his feelings onto us. Maybe its just me. Maybe I'm just too cynical when it comes to The Flash. Maybe I expected too much.

Agreed with both W. West and Hypo. I'll add that the dialogue was not only sub-par, but I got so tired of reading the overabundant text that I just started skipping through it. And the ending was ridiculous; Barry just came across as a dick not telling Patty the truth. Probably the first actual emotion I've felt towards any of these characters.
Definitely dropping after the Annual and #0.

Honestly I haven't read the issue (will do next week) but I care for Barry and I'm interested in his feelings and relationship to Patty. But I don't expect much of #10 because I don't like the Wizard as a villain that much. Maybe this number really isn't good, but what I dislike much more is, that all the past rouges only had short appearances. I like Cold and Grodd and it sucks that the Grodd story was so short. AFAIR Cold hat two numbers, but I hoped they gave the introduction of the rouges a little more space at all. And to some point, I don't know in which direction the whole story is pointing or in other words: what's the bigger story behind all the things that are going on. In Green Lantern this is much better conceptualized and executed.
But so far I like The Flash (Character(s) and the Art) a lot, even though the book is not always perfectly pleasing.

The problem with this current Flash series is that it doesn't FEEL like the Flash. The characters are all flat, interchangable and boring. The stories are very lackluster and by the numbers. They have an artist doing a writer's job, and the whole thing is neutered by editorial meddling. The art IS gorgeous, but doesn't fit. It's just not the style this book should have.
At this point the whole Flash franchise needs to be taken back to the drawing board...again. Everything DC has done with it has flopped like a limp dick since #225. Better luck next time. And thanks for sucking the life out of bringing back one of my favorite characters.

Especially the Art is the best The Flash could happen. I think it lifted the Series on a whole new level and in comparison to the previous run the art is WAY better IMO, because the style is unique and the transfered the speed of Flash in a very good manner. To be honest, I would be thinking about dropping the book, if they changed the art, because the story is only ok and interesting, but the style and art is what keeps me reading the book right now a lot more then the story.
When I think at the Omnibus Art under Johns or the Flashpoint and Pre-Flashpoint Flashs I like the actual art a lot more. Don't know if I'd buy a pre Manapul/Buccellato-Art-Flash right now. :/

I'm enjoying this series tremendously....I would pick The Flash over just about anything else I collect right now.....love the art, Manapul & Buccellato are easily the best artist team in the comic book industry.
I think issue 10 may be the worst, but only because the previous issues were so good. The writing was "iffy", but it's the first issue that "The Man" & "Booch" have written that Manapul wasn't the artist on....so there's a learning curve that I'm willing to overlook.
Basically, these issues have been "one & done" since #6 with the only overlay being Iris West & her 3 companions trapped within the Speedforce. The "quick" re-introductions of the Rogues will be followed by a major story arc; Gorilla Warfare, which will have everyone who's dropped this title wishing they hadn't when #13 is released.“You were electrocuted by a Giant Moth. That kind of thing will scramble your brain right good." -- Boxer (in Godzilla #6)

I enjoyed #11 and the direction turn the series is taking.....“You were electrocuted by a Giant Moth. That kind of thing will scramble your brain right good." -- Boxer (in Godzilla #6)
