Keep in mind that I don't think that any of these movies is really bad. This isn't best to worst, it's best to least good. And Infinity War just isn't a whole story. It's the first act of a story spread way too long. With great action set pieces (although we have seen better in Civil War, Panther and Ragnarøk). With great character moments (although we've seen better performances by every actress and actor save for Brolin). And as amazing as Thanos was, his henchdudes were terrible: Unexciting, no big names from the comics, no big actresses or actors playing them. No visually unique or impressive powers.
Where Avengers made the miracle reality of characters from various different corners of the universe working as a whole, I got mood whiplash several times going from tear jerking drama to the Guardians dicking around or whatever.
And the deaths? Why should we care about the dusted characters, when it's so many that have already been announced for future movies? These will be reversed easily, and it makes me think that we haven't seen the last of Heimdall, Loki, Gamora and Vision neither. Especially since this is the one scenario foreseen by Strange in which the good guys win...
I might rank this higher when I've seen Avengers 4: Infinity Boogaloo, but for now? It's in last place.
