I like the costume (granted I have NO IDEA who the heck that is), but the cape need to be discarded...........FAST.

I think that is one Mr. Richard Rider. And I think he absorbed Quasar's power.

I'm thinking the same thing, I believe it is Richard Rider aka Nova. I think Worldmind is going to take his power and so he's going to form a bond with Quasar. I highly doubt that this will be a permanent situation. I've still got a feeling that somehow Annihilius is behind all this change in WM's personality and has found a way to tap into the Nova Force for his source of power.

As far as the cape, I believe it's kinda been his "signature" costume piece (like the crab mask is Kyle's) and It's been on most of his costumes through the years.

There are a few possibilities we have come up with.

As MBond stated above it could be a Rich/Wendell combo. The WM might take away the Nova Force or Rich could need even more power to take it/them on so he gets a little help from his buddy Quasar.

Or it could be Quasar, as I am told, the artist Daniel Acuna, does have a different style. Still, to me, it doesn't look like Wendell at all. The hair needs to be blond(er), imo.

Actually, when I found this on the myspace My Cup O Joe, I thought it might be Vulcan. Wendell is all energy form and Vulcan does control that so...

The only other possibility I can think of is maybe its a worldmind/quasar combo. The wm is monitoring the quantum flask and was responsible for Wendell's release.

Well, it has to do with Annihilus and the quantum-bands. In Phyla #4 there was this scene where Phyla went into the bands (or something) and Wendell's essence drove Annihilus out back into the negative zone.

It seems that by Annihilus wearing the bands he tainted them. So, in theory, whatever energy that is in the quantum flask could actually be Annihilus as it is from the negative zone. And since the wm activated/released it...
