  • Hahaha. That was a fun one, guys. Especially that last segment. Good times.

On the Ms. Marvel movie news: After the announcement of the new Captain Marvel series, I tried out her last series to get a better feel for the character. I ended up reading the whole thing. I frickin' love Carol Danvers now, and a Ms.(or Captain)Marvel movie would be an awesome idea. If the movie is done right, I think it could put her right up there with Wonder Woman. As far as who could play her? I'm kinda surprised no one mentioned Yvonne Strahovski from "Chuck". Jennifer Morrison is an interesting choice and I like it to a point. She is just not a 100% "Yes!" to me. Wish I could explain why. In a recent CBR article(http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=38893) they fancast Charlize Theron as Carol Danvers. I think they were setting their sights a little too high on this one, but you really never know with Marvel and their recent track record.

          • Yo.

shes too much of a hot, young p.o.a. for Danvers; Id see her maybe playing Dazzler or Magma or some such.........maybe Sharon Carter if shes opposite whatisname playing Cap.

but I will say that C.Theron is more wat I would envision for Danvers.......

Well, as far as I know Carol has always been depicted as very attractive. She is a great soldier and superhero almost in spite of her hotness. Based on what I've seen of Yvonne's character on Chuck, I think she can pull off the soldier/superhero role pretty well. Hmm. Strahovski as Sharon Carter? I had not considered that...

What? You mean like being able to hang with RDJ and the others?

Don't get me wrong. As far as I'm concerned, Charlize Theron can have the role if she wants it. However, she is a highly sought after actress. Plus she has already been in a "superhero movie"(I use that term loosely when I refer to Hancock), and it was a dud. Who knows if she would want to do another one?

how many superheroines in comics have U seen that ARENT attractive?? if U can find ten (or 5 in Marvel itself), it'll be a miracle. ;P

but again, I dont want somebody who's HOT, cuz thats too easy & simple (like ScarJo playing Natasha); sharp, attractive (w/o being a bombshell), capable, mature AND can carry the role..........thats harder.

aye. its 1 thing for a person to hold a scene becuz the story demands it, but another where the actress herself pulls it off w/o trying to do so due to *her* presence (much like RDJ in Avengers.)

dont get me wrong, Im not looking for Shakespeare here or watever, but Im not the type of person who just looks at a list of A-listers & pretty ppl to see who can fit a role (1 of my all-time great lamentations was fuckin' H.Berry being cast over Angela Basset as Storm......)

I was just responding to your statement that Yvonne Strahovski is "too young and hot". ...Which is a concept I can barely understand.

I thought Scarlett did very well as Black Widow, but I get what you mean. You want the person playing Carol Danvers to(in addition to being a good actress) at least look like she has a few years of experience and hard choices behind her.

Yeah. As far as stage presence, I couldn't defend Strahovski against Theron even if I wanted to. I don't think it would be out of bounds saying this, but I have not seen many of her movies and I know Theron would completely crush it as Carol Danvers. Weather it be in a solo Captain Marvel movie or holding her own with the Avengers. I'll admit I can't say the same with Strahovski.

I get it, man. Most people fan cast based on who they can most readily think of that would fit the profile. I usually try to wait and see who they come with and try to keep an open mind.

For a long time I thought Halle Berry was just underutilized in those movies. Now that I think about it she was kind of there a lot of the time. Looking up Angela Basset just now, and I thought to myself "Damn. She could play Storm now, nevermind 12 years ago." Instead she got a glorified cameo in Green Lantern...

Alright. You got me. When I posted that I was not aware of what kind of numbers it pulled in. I just remember not being a big fan of Hancock after I saw it.

Rented Aeon Flux. Fell asleep while watching it. Didn't bother trying again. So you could imagine why I would forget that movie.

Re Ms. Marvel. I really wouldn't like it if they called her Captain Marvel. It's so DC.

Yvonne Strahovski is definitely a great choice for Ms. Marvel. She was a sexy badass agent on Chuck and looks great in a swimsuit.

Jennifer Morrison is too much of the girl next door actress.

Charlize Theron is definitely a strong actor and I'm sure she would do a great job, but there's something there where I don't think she would make a fit.

I became a big fan of Ms. Marvel because of the latest volume and the artwork of Frank Cho and Sana Takeda. I thought Ms. Marvel to be the punch first and ask questions later type of person; a female Han Solo. With that in mind, I thought of Katie Sackhoff. She's not too much of a pretty face and she has meat on her bones. She was definitely the Han Solo of the new Battlestar Galatica.

I think I'll call the following statements "Things Tazer Learned from Listening to Some Crazy Ppl.....":

                        1) I liked the name "Colto", and hope that it catches on...

                        2) with the current cast the shows sounds less stilted & flows better, as now its not IG vs "Kuhan #2 & His Friend Who Mirrors His Opinions"

                        3) while I agreed w/him on a few things here, "Colto" needs to learn to wait to speak; the mike wont go away if yur not talking into it after 45secs has past dude.......

                        4) IG is clearly naught but a console gamer & has no/little experience w/pc gaming (Diablo III is an mmo? CoD is lame, but U like fps's?? dude........)

                        5) and by now I think its widely known that in order to play Diablo 3 by yurself, ya STILL NEED TO connect to the 'net; there *IS* no offline play.

                        6) "Colto" really needs to not interrupt others as much when their talking.

                        7) much respect (and laffs!) to Kuhan #2 for calling "Colto" out on his interruptions.........

                        8) hes also right in that "N's" classic cadre of "go-to titles" have all been 1 slight re-hash after another.

                        9) and last, but most importantly: FUCK CAPCOM!!

                        other than that, gj dudes.

tbqh I never did subscribe to the "heroes = bodybuilders/heroines = models" OR the "they should all be young looking" -mentality, and even tho I *also* wouldnt mind watching her bending over to show us her tasty bits, shes just too "candy-coated" looking in that role to me. *shrug*

bingo! ScarJo just didnt look like shes carrying *anything* like that , and while she was great as a highly capable SHIELD agent, I didnt buy her as Natasha Romanov.

actually, her Starbuck wouldnt be a bad way to go for the role, and Sackhoff herself is someone who I see that would be ready to hit & get hit on-screen...........
