  • Has anyone read BN 0-7 in preparation for 8?

If so, how does the story flow without the tie-ins? Or, are at least the GL and GLC tie-ins recommended?

I'm about to read it all, tie-ins included. I'm wondering if I should read the Prelude stories first. BTW, I've read everything; I just wanna read it all again without waiting months.

Well, most of the tie-ins I've never read and won't ever read.

It hadn't even crossed my mind to read 0-7 before reading 8. I was just so glad to be at the end of this garbage that I went ahead and read it.

Same here. Might sit and re-read from the beginning and then do a massive review but if I do, it'll be awhile from now.

I'm re-reading them all now, with the tie-ins and everything.

Issue 1 does manage to tie in nicely with the finale. You have the rogues remembering the original Cappy Boomerang, and just about everyone who's mentioned as having died in the past got addressed. Except for Kilowog. You have Parallax shown more than once. The Hawks fighting now seems more complete with the resolution in BN8. Ditto Mera's grieving over Aquaman. There's a few things that got pushed back in my mind thanks to how long this event has been going on for that shine nicely after knowing how it ends.

No, but I re-read the Sinestro Corps War the other night and can't believe that the same guy who was responsible for that fantastic story wrote the Blackest Night. They are light years apart in quality.

Loved 'em since Smells Like Teen Spirit came out when I was 14.

Grunge isn't dead, it's only on hiatus.
